Invoicing software for waste businesses
Your invoices come from the work you've already recorded. Set your prices once, and each collection or receipt is priced and put on its customer's invoice as it's done, ready to check and send.
Invoicing is an add-on, £25 + VAT a month, on top of Tippa's free core. Its first month is free, with no card needed.
What Tippa does for you.
Your prices, set once
Price per lift, container, item (each container, or loose items counted, such as 40 tyres), tonne or kg, litre or cubic metre, or for the whole job, and per hire (once for the hire period, or per day) with a price for each day a hire is kept over. Add a minimum charge to any price, the weight included per container before a weight charge applies, and landfill tax at the standard or lower rate for your site's nation, kept up to date by Tippa. Use your own prices, price lists such as Trade, a customer's own or a site's. If you both collect and receive, price the same waste per lift when you collect it and per tonne when it's tipped at your gate.
The price as you book
Book a job and you can see what it will cost straight away. A collection's pricing can still be changed after it's dropped off: a job price, or the weight, number of items or volume to invoice on. A per item or volume charge with nothing counted is flagged, never charged as one.
Invoices made as you go
Each collection or receipt goes on its customer's draft invoice as it's done, for each job, weekly, monthly or when you raise it, with no invoices typed up at the end of the month. Check Prices lists anything that would stop a draft being sent, grouped by cause across your customers. Check it and send it, or let it go overnight: it's emailed with a PDF and a link to view it, or texted or sent by WhatsApp with the link, and numbered with no gaps.

A job of several loads, one line
A job needing several loads, such as soil from a building site in a dozen lorry loads, goes on its customer's invoice once it's complete, as one job rather than a line for every lorry. It's priced from all its loads' waste, each load weighed on its own receipt, with a charge per collection for each load and anything the driver added on the day, or at one price agreed for the whole job. Each load shows what it adds, and the job what it would cost so far. Jobs needing several loads (free)
Monthly contracts
Charge a customer a fixed price each month for chosen container types, such as a weekly 1100 litre bin, in advance or in arrears, with a part month charged by the day. Their collections of those containers aren't charged per lift.
Skip hire, billed
With the Skip Hire add-on too, each skip's hire period is billed when it's delivered, every day it's kept past its due date once it comes back, and what each road permit cost. Anything the driver added on the day goes on the job, and what a customer pays there and then is recorded with it, by card, cash or transfer. Tippa for skip hire
Jobs you arranged
Brokers and dealers mark a collection collected with the weights the carrier gave them, then invoice the producer or the carrier, priced on those weights. Tippa for brokers and dealers
Credit notes
A credit note puts a sent invoice right: when a record changes after its invoice has gone, for a credit you give by hand (an amount or your own lines, with a reason), or when an invoice is voided.
Payments and what's overdue
Record payments as they come in, including what's paid on the day at the gate or the door, recorded with the job and set against its invoice when that's sent, one payment across several of a customer's invoices if need be, with anything left over kept as credit to use or refund, and write off what won't be paid. See what's unpaid, what's overdue and what each customer owes, and the takings: what was taken by cash, card and bank transfer today, yesterday or over a week or month, on the dashboard and at the weighbridge.
Statements and reminders
Send a customer a statement of their account for any dates, as a PDF or by email, or send one to every customer with a balance on the 1st of each month. Payment reminders list a customer's overdue invoices with a link to each and a statement attached, sent by hand or on a schedule you set: up to five reminders before, on or after the due date, each in your own words, never more than one a week, and never for paid or written-off invoices.
Sales reports and your accounts
Your sales by month, customer, charge or site, with a chart, and an export of your invoices, credit notes and payments as CSV files, to bring into Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or other accounts software.
Your prices, brought across
Import your charges and prices from a spreadsheet: every row is checked and shown before anything is saved, and you can undo an import for 7 days. Prices go on your own list, a site's, a customer's or a named price list, from the date you give.
Prices stay in the office
Your drivers never see prices, and run sheets don't show them.
What Tippa isn't: it doesn't take card payments, and it isn't accounts software. Your invoices, credit notes and payments export as CSV files to bring into the accounts package you already use, such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage; there’s no live link to them yet.
