What's new in Tippa

Last updated

What we've added to Tippa, newest first. We build it with the people who use it: if you're using Tippa, Feature Requests, under Help (?), let you vote for what comes next or suggest something new.

October 2026

  • Every add-on starts with a free month. Switching on an add-on in Manage Subscriptions, or adding an extra site, vehicle or office user, now starts its free month rather than buying it: the summary says your first month is £0 and what each costs after, with nothing to pay and no card needed. An add-on’s card now offers Try free for a month, which takes you straight there with it ready to start. To have it carry on afterwards, Set up payment saves your card with nothing to pay, and it’s optional: without it, it stops when the month is up and nothing is charged. Get Started on the dashboard now ends with a step to try an add-on, with Not interested if you’d rather not. One your organisation has had before is charged straight away, as before. Free.
  • An office user with each extra site. Each extra site on your plan now comes with another office user, free, so three sites come with three office users. Extra office users are £5 + VAT a month each beyond those. If your plan already pays for extra sites, the users that come with them are added for you now. Manage Subscriptions says how many office users come with your sites.
  • Office users match your plan. You now never have more active office users (administrators, back office and weighbridge users) than your plan covers; drivers don't count. Lower your office users or cancel in Manage Subscriptions and you choose who stays: anyone else is disabled, straight away or when a cancelled plan ends, and waiting invitations that no longer fit are cancelled. When a free trial of office users or sites ends, anyone over is disabled, the newest back office and weighbridge users first and administrators last. Nobody's deleted: they're signed out, emailed, shown in Manage Users as disabled for the plan, and an admin can swap who's active by disabling one and enabling another. Sites and vehicles are kept as before. A late payment disables nobody until the plan is actually cancelled or paused.

  • Where’s my skip? View Hire shows the customer’s phone and, for a delivery, exchange or take-away on a round, which stop it is, the day, the driver and the lorry. Containers on Hire and the dashboard’s Overdue widget show the customer’s phone too. The hire list’s Actions now offer Book Exchange and Book Take Away, with Record Exchange and Record Take Away for one already done; Rounds and Plan Round say when a stop is a booked exchange; and Containers on Hire sorts by Delivered, so the skips out longest come first (Skip Hire add-on).
  • Lists you can sort, and add up. The Container Register and Vehicle Checks can be sorted. Customers shows when each was last used, to spot who’s gone quiet. With the Reporting add-on, View Receipts narrowed by a search or dates adds them up in tonnes, for the customer on the phone, and a customer’s waste statement now includes loads where they were the producer.
  • For drivers. With no signal, TIPPA says “No signal: your work is saved on this device” calmly instead of a red error, and “All sent” once it’s gone. The signature pad has a Cancel, Replace and Remove are proper buttons, switches toggle from anywhere on their row, and Driver Home has one pickup button beside a round and Delete my account out of the way at the foot.
  • Quicker forms. A carrier with one vehicle starts Arrange Collection in it. Typing “tipper” finds Loose (and “dumpy” your bags). Get Started’s first load opens Create Receipt as a load that’s arrived. The dual-coding explanation only shows once a waste item has a second code, and Carrier Source says a business bringing its own waste is an External Carrier.
  • Fewer surprises in the office. Needs Attention says when a carrier’s or broker’s organisation has no address (its notes can’t be sent for signing without one). A lapsed carrier registration’s alert counts the planned collections and receipts it stops, and opens them. With Invoicing, a failed visit charged nothing says that’s your Invoice Settings, a charge says it reprices draft invoices, and an address typed for a customer’s statement can become their billing email.
  • Security and your data. A new page, Security and your data, says in plain words where your records and photos are kept, how they're encrypted and backed up, how signing in is protected, who in your business and at Tippa can see what, how to take your data with you, and how to report a security problem (security@tip-pa.co.uk). It's linked from every page's footer.
  • Directions for drivers. On Driver Home, each stop still to do, and the place to drop off, has a Directions link that opens the phone's maps app with driving directions there: Apple Maps on an iPhone, and on Android the maps app the driver chooses, such as Google Maps or Waze. Free for Carrier organisations.
  • One button to deliver a skip. Containers on Hire's Deliver Container asks whether it has gone out yet: book it for a day and a driver, or record one already delivered. Book Delivery was a button and a form of its own (Skip Hire add-on).
  • One place to add stops to a round. With Skip Hire, Plan Round's More Stops lists collections and booked skip deliveries together, with how many of each are waiting, and Plan Round says when deliveries are waiting to go on a round (Round Planning and Skip Hire add-ons).
  • Add a missing price from the form. When What This Would Cost on a collection, receipt or skip hire form finds no charge or no price, Add a Price opens Add Charge already filled in for that container type, without leaving the form, and the cost updates once it's saved. Choose whether everyone pays it or just that customer (Invoicing add-on).
  • A simpler charge for a failed visit. In Invoicing Settings, a wasted trip's fixed charge is now just an amount you type for each reason (No access, Waste not out and so on), rather than a charge you had to set up in Prices first. It goes on the invoice as a line of its own (Invoicing add-on).
  • Road permits from the list. On Containers on Hire, a skip on the road has Road Permits in its Actions, opening the hire at its permits to add, extend or change one (Skip Hire add-on).
  • Carriers, brokers and producers in the Republic of Ireland. Northern Irish businesses deal with ones over the border, so a carrier, broker/dealer or producer can now have an Irish address with its Eircode (such as D02 X285), typed in on Customers, on a record or in Import Records, and so can a collection's address and a receipt's Collected From Postcode. Defra's Digital Waste Tracking takes an Eircode for a carrier or broker. Your waste returns report the waste as from outside the UK, and DAERA's as from the Republic of Ireland. Your sites and the places you send waste to still need a UK postcode. Free to record; the returns are in the Waste Returns add-on.

  • A stranger's details before they tip. Weigh In and Load Out have an optional Load Details section for a vehicle nobody planned: its carrier (any, or a new one), its waste (just the EWC code and description, the rest can wait for Weigh Out) and, going out, where it's going. The carrier's registration is checked there and then, so one that has expired or been revoked is turned away before the load is tipped or loaded. It's folded away so a regular's weigh-in stays quick, says when it's a vehicle Tippa doesn't know, and Weigh Out opens with everything filled in. Free.
  • Safety inspections DVSA can rely on. Recording a safety inspection now asks for the garage or workshop, the inspector's name, where it was done and each safety defect found, filled in from the last inspection where it can be, and the record gives the ISO week and the vehicle's make and model. If the defects weren't all put right at the inspection, the vehicle is off the road until each one is marked fixed and someone signs it off as roadworthy. The garage's signed sheet stays the record of each item's condition and the brake test: Tippa asks for a photo of it, and Needs Attention lists an inspection without one. The PDF prints the whole record, the repairs, the sign-off and the sheet's photos. Free for Carrier organisations.
  • Repairs, off the road, and when a check arrived. Mark Fixed, on a vehicle check or an inspection, asks who repaired the defect, when and what was done. The office can take a vehicle off the road, and return it to service, from its dates or Manage Vehicles; Driver Home, Plan Round and Collect show it, as they do a vehicle with defects. A removed vehicle's dates and inspections still open from Manage Vehicles' Removed view. A check's PDF and export say when Tippa received it, brakes and the other essentials can't be answered N/A, and a check records the trailer's number. Free for Carrier organisations.
  • One charge for a skip hire. A hire charge now holds its price for each day a skip is kept over, so there's one charge per skip size instead of two, and a customer's price list sets both together. It can also be charged per day on hire rather than once for the hire period: then the days over are charged at the same daily price unless you give them one of their own. Your existing charges for days over have been joined to their hire charges. Invoicing and Skip Hire add-ons.
  • Several skips in one go. Deliver Container and Book Delivery take a quantity, and more than one size, so two 8 yard skips and a 12 yard for one site are a single entry, each skip with its own number if it has one. Each still becomes a hire of its own, so it can be exchanged, taken away and billed on its own. With Invoicing, what was paid on the day is shared across them. Drivers can drop off several the same way, and several booked for one place are one stop on the driver's round, delivered together or a few at a time. Skip Hire add-on.

  • Hazardous waste consignment notes, filled in for you. A collection, waste movement or receipt with hazardous waste now has Print / Download Consignment Note and Email Consignment Note, as its transfer note has, and a driver has Open Consignment Note on their phone to print, since the note travels with the waste on paper. It's the form for where the waste is moved from: the Environment Agency's in England, Natural Resources Wales's in Wales, SEPA's in Scotland (still fillable, so the next person can type in what's left) and NIEA's in Northern Ireland, with all six of its copies. The code, the producer, each waste with its hazards and components, the carrier and the signatures go in from the record, and the receiving site's part once the load is booked in at your own site. In Scotland and Northern Ireland a carrier's round gets one note for all its stops, with its carrier's schedule after it. Free.
  • The process and UN details for consignment notes. A hazardous waste item can now say its UN number, proper shipping name, class and packing group, or that it isn't dangerous goods, and a producer, a hazardous collection, movement or receipt the process giving rise to the waste, filled in from the producer. Both are optional, go on the consignment note and are never sent to Defra. Free.
  • Two-step sign-in by text or WhatsApp. Anyone with a Tippa password can now have the code they need after it sent to their mobile, by text or WhatsApp, instead of using an authenticator app (still offered, and you can have both). Set it up on My Profile: the code goes as soon as you've typed your password, and you're emailed when the mobile is set up or changed. Free, and it never uses your organisation's message balance.
  • Email a waste movement's transfer note. A movement's page and its confirmation now have Email Transfer Note, as a receipt's and a collection's do, starting with the destination's email. If it bounces, the movement says so with Resend Transfer Note, and Needs Attention lists it. Free.
  • Print and export vehicle checks and inspections. Print or download any walkaround check as a PDF, every item with each defect and how it was put right, and any safety inspection the same way. Export your checks, or a vehicle's inspections, as a spreadsheet. Free for Carrier organisations.
  • See what a skip hire will cost before you save it. Deliver Container, Book Delivery and a hire's Edit show what the hire period comes to, as Arrange Collection does, and Paid on the day offers that amount. Skip Hire and Invoicing add-ons.
  • Your hires and skips stay readable. If Skip Hire leaves your plan, Containers on Hire, the Container Register and each hire and skip stay there to look at and print labels from, so an invoice's hire still opens. Skip Hire add-on.
  • A customer's account, all in one place. Customer Account now has All Invoices and the customer's billing details, with Edit Customer to change them. A producer's Actions on Customers start a skip delivery for them. Invoicing and Skip Hire add-ons.
  • Schedules warn of a removed carrier or customer. A repeated receipt, movement or collection whose carrier, broker, producer or destination has been removed is marked on its list and says which on its page and Edit, as a template does. Repeated Records add-on.
  • Defra's answer on a move between permits. The move's own page now shows the Waste Tracking ID of the receipt it made, or why Defra didn't take it, with Retry, not only the confirmation. Free.
  • Records read alike at a glance. Receipts, movements and collections open with who's at the other end, the date that matters and the reference; on a phone, every list's cards start with the date, reference and status. Processing and Mass Balance adjustments warn about EWC codes that shouldn't go together, as a waste item does. Free.
  • A removed permit or site still owes its returns. Removing a permit from a site, or the whole site, no longer drops the returns it still owes, up to and including the quarter it was removed in. Returns Due and Needs Attention keep listing them, marked removed, and the Waste Return screen offers a removed permit after the live ones. Remove Permit and Remove Site list what's still owed before you confirm; a removed site's return is made by restoring it. Returns Due is free; the returns are in the Waste Returns add-on.
  • Where your own vehicle's load came from. A receipt carried by One of Our Vehicles with no collection or movement behind it now asks for its Collected From Postcode, whatever the waste, so your returns report it under the right council; it's on View Receipt and the receipt PDF. At a Northern Irish site, Waste From lists the councils rather than just Northern Ireland, and at a Scottish site it offers Offshore, as SEPA's return does. Free to record; the returns are in the Waste Returns add-on.
  • The EA's technical competence question. On Edit Site, an English permit's technical competence now starts with no scheme chosen, and No scheme is warned about there and on the return, unless the site's facility type doesn't need one. It never stops you sending (Waste Returns add-on).
  • Transfer notes that stay right. A job's load keeps the transfer note it was collected on, so editing the job afterwards never takes it off that note or its schedule of loads, and a note signed later that day covers that day's loads. A Receiver is warned when its own SIC code, a carrier customer's or a receipt's carrier's is missing, as the note asks for the transferor's. Drop Off's Somewhere new asks for the place's permit or exemption, checks it on the register and keeps it on the customer, and warns when there's none and for hazardous waste. The free waste transfer note now asks for the time, the place and the quantity, and warns of a missing SIC code. Free.
  • Hazardous waste turned away needs a new note. Rejected hazardous waste going somewhere else needs a new consignment note, its code with R added, and the carrier must tell the regulator. Tippa now reminds you wherever it happens: receiving waste another of your sites turned away says so under the code and offers the code with R; the Waste turned away alert and the rejection notice say so; and Drop Off warns when turned-away hazardous waste goes anywhere but back to its producer. None of it stops you. Free.
  • Hazardous paperwork in full. SEPA's copy of a consignment note now lists every component and its concentration. A receipt keeps the special handling read from an imported consignment note, shows it on View Receipt and its note, and sends it to Defra. An HWRC receipt with hazardous waste that may need a note names SEPA or NIEA at a Scottish or Northern Irish site. Free; SEPA's copy is in the Consignee Returns add-on, reading notes in Note Uploads.
  • Registrations and permits checked against where the waste came from. A receipt now warns when its carrier has no registration for where the waste came from, such as a Belfast producer's waste arriving at a site in Great Britain, as well as where it's going. The receipt forms warn when a permit's register shows it has ended or is suspended. Process Waste warns when an input's waste code was received in the month before with a code that takes it off Mass Balance on arrival, such as landfill or incineration, so it isn't counted twice. A SEPA professional collector and transporter number (WCR/PC/) is reminded that SEPA ends them on 1 April 2027. None of these stops you. Free.
  • Defra's deadline allows for bank holidays. Defra's deadline for each load, quarantine's and a round's pre-notification now skip the bank holidays every UK nation shares. A receipt restored after Defra corrected its record is sent to Defra again as a new load. Free.
  • Tippa's Digital Waste Tracking test results. We ran Defra's test scenarios for software that reports received waste, and a new page, Tippa's test results and known gaps, gives the results, what the tests don't cover and what stays your responsibility as a receiver, whatever software you use. Digital Waste Tracking Settings says the same in a card, and when you save your first API code. Free.
  • Returns that follow what really happened. Waste your site sends out from its own office or canteen can be marked on Create and Edit Movement, and is left off your waste returns and Mass Balance. A load your van took that was turned away is reported where it really went, or not at all if it came back. Changing a site's details after a return was due no longer marks the sent return as changed, and the return says which details changed and when. A producer whose sent return's loads have all moved to another producer is listed, to send them a corrected return. Free to mark; the returns are in the Waste Returns and Consignee Returns add-ons, and Mass Balance in Reporting.
  • Vehicle checks on DVSA's full lists. The lorry and van check lists now have every item on DVSA's walkaround checks, in its order, ending with Other equipment (tail lift, crane, bin lift). A vehicle with its own list is always checked with it. A photo removed from a check or inspection is kept: whoever added it can remove it for 30 minutes, then only an admin, giving a reason. Only an admin can remove an inspection, saying why, and it stays listed, marked removed. Free for Carrier organisations.

  • Receipts and invoices by text or WhatsApp. Send a customer their receipt confirmations and invoices by text or WhatsApp, as well as or instead of email, each with a link to view and download it. Choose how on their customer record, or import it with their mobile. Messages are paid for from a balance an admin tops up under Messaging in Organisation Settings: 4p a WhatsApp message and 8p a text, plus VAT, with auto top-up if you want it and 25 free to start. One that can't go is emailed instead, and one that isn't delivered costs nothing. On the free plan too.
  • Producers told when their waste moves. Each producer you collect from is told when their waste is collected, and again when it's received at one of your sites, with a link to see it and download the transfer note: by email, free, or by text or WhatsApp if their record says so. It's on to start with; turn it off in Collection Updates, or for one customer on their record. Free.
  • Drivers sign in with a code by text or WhatsApp. A driver can have their sign-in code texted or sent by WhatsApp to their mobile instead of emailed, the first time too, so one who never opens the invite email can still get in. Free: it doesn't use your messaging balance.
  • Drop off somewhere new. When a load can't go where it was planned, say it was turned away, your driver isn't limited to the places already in Tippa. Drop Off has a Somewhere new choice: type in the name and address of the place you're taking it, even with no signal, and it's added to your customers as a Destination Facility, ready for next time. The office can do the same. Free.
  • Record a missed collection from the office. When a driver or carrier phones to say they couldn't collect, choose Not Collected on the collection and say why, as a driver would on their phone. It stays planned for you to rebook or close, and with Invoicing it's charged as a driver's would be. Broker/dealers can record one for their carrier's collections too.
  • Mass Balance adjustments you can put back. Removing an adjustment now asks why, as removing a duty-of-care record does. Removed ones are listed with the reason and can be restored, and each has its own history. Part of the Reporting add-on.
  • The weighbridge keeps up by itself. Weighbridge Home's loads, the dashboard's On Site, Quarantined Waste and Recent Activity, and the Rounds screen change as soon as someone else weighs a load or saves a change, without a refresh. A Weighbridge user can now look up past loads out on View Movements, as they can loads in.
  • Every record screen works the same way. Each record's main next step and Edit are buttons, with everything else under More Actions and its history last. Records you can get back say Remove, and sending something again says Resend. With more than one site, a record says which site it's at, and every photo removed is in the Activity Log.
  • A search that finds nothing says where it would. View Movements, View Collections, View Processing, Invoices, Jobs and the Container Register now say how many records your search finds with the filters cleared, with a button to show them, as View Receipts already did. So a reference looked for under the wrong status isn't "no match". Free.
  • Load outs at the weighbridge catch up with loads in. A load out's Weigh Out offers Same as last time, filling in the waste the vehicle took last time, and can remember the vehicle's tare against a carrier named only as it leaves. Its card and buttons read as a load coming in's do. On Weighbridge Home, the day's loads out are listed as the loads in are: Show Planned, All Today, Collected or Overdue, pages, and a search that finds nothing that day offers the day a matching load out is planned for. So a load out stays on the list once it's gone, and one that never came shows up. Free.
  • Fuller exports and receipt PDFs. The movements export adds when each load left, who recorded it, its form, containers and weighbridge readings; the collections export adds the weight collected, the driver, the job and why one was closed; processing adds each output's fate. The receipt PDF gives who received the load and a quarantine's outcome, and it's offered as soon as you save. Exports are part of the Reporting add-on.
  • Skips you can put back. A skip removed from the Container Register is kept under Show: Removed, and Restore puts it back in the yard. A hire's View now opens its skip, and a collection lists the skips exchanged or taken away there. Skip Hire add-on.
  • Jobs start the way collections do. A job can be copied with Clone or saved as a collection template, and New Job can be filled in from a transfer or consignment note, as Arrange Collection can. Jobs are free; templates are part of the Productivity add-on and reading notes of Note Uploads.
  • Load out a planned movement from its record. A planned waste movement at a site with a weighbridge has Load Out on its own page and its row, as a planned receipt has Weigh In. Free.
  • The dashboard's View all opens the right list. View all on Scheduled Waste Output and Upcoming Collections, and the Overdue widget's counts, open View Movements or View Collections on just the planned ones for those days, as Scheduled Receipts already did. View Collections can now show every planned collection at once. Free.
  • Find a skip by where it is. The Container Register's search finds a skip by the customer, address, postcode or hire reference it's out at, not only its number. A skip's page has its history and Remove, and a hire's page has Remove, as their lists do. Skip Hire add-on.
  • D&R codes filled in on schedules and templates. Repeated movements and movement templates fill in each item's disposal or recovery code from the last movement of the same waste to that destination, as a waste movement does. A saved repeated schedule now opens its own page, as a saved job does. Repeated Records and Productivity add-ons.

  • Easier without a mouse, zoomed in or with a screen reader. We checked Tippa against the accessibility standard UK public bodies have to meet (WCAG 2.2 AA) and fixed what got in the way. Menus, filters and tick boxes all work from the keyboard, with Space and the arrow keys as on any web page. A Skip to content link gets past the header, and every screen has its own title. Off switches are easy to see, and Windows' high-contrast themes show which option is picked. Search boxes and select boxes tell a screen reader what's there and what's chosen, and sign-up shows every problem at once beside its box. On the website, nothing runs off the side at 400% zoom, and the videos' captions are on from the start. Free.
  • Owner-drivers sign in the driver's way. Anyone on your Drivers list can now sign in with a driver's emailed code, whatever their role, so an owner-driver or an office user who drives needs no password in the cab. Tippa opens in driver mode, with everything else a tap away under Back Office. Someone with two-factor authentication still logs in with their password. Free.
  • Your own haul is One of Our Vehicles. The carrier on a receipt, a waste movement or a load out no longer offers One of Our Sites, which named no vehicle and was easy to pick by mistake for where the waste was going. Send waste to another of your sites by choosing it under Destination, and say your van carried it with One of Our Vehicles. Older records carried by one of your sites keep it. Free.
  • Take waste back to its producer. Drop Off now offers Back to each producer whose waste is on the van, at the address it was collected from, for waste that wasn't as described. Only that producer's waste goes back; the rest stays on board. And when your own site turns away your own van's load, the office gets a Waste turned away alert, so it can tell the driver where to take it. Free.
  • The free permit check says when a permit can't be used. A permit its register shows as suspended, revoked, surrendered or expired is now said to be so, in every UK nation, rather than shown as held. And the free waste transfer note asks the transferor to confirm they've applied the waste hierarchy, as the law requires, listing every problem with the form at once. Free.
  • Hand a round's stops to another driver. When another driver takes the van for the afternoon, plan their round and Move Here the stops still to collect on the first one's: they come off it as you save. To hand a whole round over, change its driver in Edit Round. Round Planning add-on.

  • Check Prices, one customer at a time. Check Prices now opens by customer, with each customer listed once however many draft invoices their jobs are on, and a button for each invoice named by its week, month or job. Two customers with the same name show their town. By Problem lists each customer once under each step too. Invoicing add-on.
  • Rejected waste goes back on your van. When your site turns away a load that came in one of your own vans, Back on the van is already chosen as where it went, and the waste goes back on the van as if it was never dropped off. The driver is told, the round isn't complete any more and Drop Off shows again, so they take it somewhere else; Drop Off warns if they choose the site that turned it away. Only what was rejected goes back, and that site isn't sent a new planned load for it. Free.
  • Every row on the dashboard opens. Tap a row's words on any widget to open what it's about, not only its button. Where the button does something else, such as Receive, Complete or Weigh Out, the record opens so you can look before you act. Only Scheduled Receipts worked this way before. Free.
  • Add collections to a round from the page. Plan Round and Edit Round now list the day's collections that aren't on a round yet, going where the round is, each with Add, so a round is built in a few taps without opening a list first. More Collections has the rest: earlier days' not collected, other destinations and a search. Arranging a new collection from the round is still there, as a link under them. Round Planning add-on.
  • A new producer's missing details, said while you add it. Add Customer, and Add New Producer on a collection or receipt, now warn as you fill them in about a business producer with no SIC code, or a customer with no email or phone, so you can add them there and then rather than being told on the collection afterwards. Still warnings: you can save without them. Free.

  • The field that's wrong, marked where it is. When Save finds something missing or wrong, the field itself now turns red with what's wrong just under it, and the page goes back up to the first one (on a computer, with the cursor in it), rather than only listing the problems by the button at the bottom. Put one right and its mark goes straight away. It's on every form that records waste: receipts, Weigh In and Weigh Out, Waste Output, processing, collections, Collect, rounds, templates, repeated records, container hires and drop-offs. Forms that showed only the first problem now show them all at once. Free.
  • Gate prices, and every price with VAT. The weighbridge now has its site's prices to hand, to quote a walk-in from: Gate Prices on Weighbridge Home, and See Gate Prices on Weigh In and the receipt forms, each charge per tonne, item or load with its minimum, shown with VAT. At Weigh Out, a load is priced as soon as its waste and weight are in, before the carrier or householder is picked. And what a collection or receipt would cost now ends with the VAT and the total with VAT, not just the figure without it, so a householder is quoted what they'll pay. Invoicing add-on.
  • The day's takings, by cash, card and bank transfer. A new Takings widget on the dashboard adds up what was taken on the day for today, yesterday, this or last week, or this or last month: cash, card and bank transfer at every site, each site's total, and the jobs behind it. A walk-in no one's billed for counts too, since the money's in the till. Underneath, what was paid against invoices, refunds taken off. At the weighbridge, Weighbridge Home shows the same for its own site, so the operator can check the till and card machine against it. Invoicing add-on.
  • Tonnes in and out, now free. The dashboard's Throughput widget, each site's tonnes in and out day by day for this week, this month or the last 30 days, no longer needs the Reporting add-on. Switch it on from Customise Dashboard. Mass Balance, the reports and exports stay in Reporting. Free.
  • Paid on the day, recorded as a payment. When a customer pays at the gate, on the doorstep or over the phone, Paid on the day now takes what they paid and how (cash, card or bank transfer), offering what the job comes to with VAT. It's a payment on their account from that moment, shown as waiting for the job's invoice rather than as credit, and it's set against the invoice when that's sent: paid in full, the invoice says PAID; if less was taken, the rest is left to pay. Saving one with nothing taken, or that comes to nothing, asks you first. A load received or weighed out this way prints its ticket on screen, marked PAID, and the receipt PDF shows what was paid. Tippa records the payment; it doesn't take it. Invoicing add-on.

  • Bins emptied into the lorry arrive loose. When one of your vehicles brings collections to your own site, waste from wheelie bins, food caddies, loader bins, bottle banks and refuse sacks thrown in now reaches the site's receipt as Loose, as it was tipped, not as "37 × 1100L Wheelie Bin". Skips, RoRos and bulk bags still arrive as themselves, and hazardous waste keeps its containers. The collections keep their bins, so lifts are still priced as lifts. Each type on Container Types has an Emptied into the vehicle setting, on already for the bins, and the starter list gains a 1280L wheelie bin, a 23L food caddy and a bottle bank. Free.
  • Jobs needing several loads. Waste that takes more than one load to move, such as 30 tonnes of soil from a building site in three lorry loads, can now be one job: Collections, Jobs. Plan its loads ahead, each on its own date, or add one on the day with Add Another Load, and see its progress against an estimate in tonnes or loads. Each load is still a collection of its own, with its own vehicle, driver, drop-off and receipt, and Edit Job updates the planned loads nobody has changed by hand. A driver can tap Another load on a stop they've collected on Driver Home, even with no signal, which makes an ordinary collection a job. When no other load is planned, Collect asks whether that was the last load, and Yes completes the job, and the office gets an alert (A job's last load) and can Reopen it. Needs Attention suggests completing a job once its estimate is reached, or when nothing is planned and no load has been collected for 14 days. The producer signs the job's transfer note once, rather than for every lorry: on the driver's phone at a load's collection (a tick beside their signature), online from an emailed link, or on paper, and it covers every load until the job is complete, with each load's transfer note being the job's. A load of different waste, or carried by someone else, is signed for on its own, and hazardous waste still needs a consignment note for each load. Free. With the Invoicing add-on, a job goes on its customer's invoice as one line once it's complete, priced from all its loads (each weighed on its own receipt, with a charge per collection for each load) or at a job price for the whole job, and View Job shows what it would cost so far.
  • Collection and gate prices for the same waste. If you both collect waste and take it in at your own site, each charge can now be for collections, for receipts or for both. Charge soil per lift when you collect it and per tonne when a customer tips it, each with its own price for a customer, a price list or a site. Prices shows your collection charges or your receipt charges on their own, and Add Charge starts with the way that kind of job is usually charged. Invoicing add-on.
  • A missed job keeps its place on the round. Rebooking a job a driver couldn't collect onto another day's round now leaves it on the round it was missed on, still shown as Not collected with the driver's reason, so that day's round and run sheet keep the record of the visit. It works even when it was that round's only stop. Free.
  • Rejected waste is expected at your other site. When you reject a load and it's taken to another of your own sites, that site now gets a planned receipt for it, with the rejected waste, the weight you weighed as its estimate, and the same carrier, vehicle and consignment code, so it's expecting the load. Each receipt links to the other, and deleting the rejected receipt removes the planned one while the load is still to come. Free.
  • At the weighbridge. A vehicle on more than one carrier's record now waits for you to pick who brought it, rather than starting on Someone Else. New Receipt says when the vehicle is already on site, with Weigh It Out, so one load isn't recorded twice. Free.
  • Put right after testing. A waste description you stopped suggesting can be suggested again: type it out in full and tap Suggest again. The Delete box no longer says a removed record can't be seen again (it's kept under Show: Removed). Restore isn't offered for a receipt that comes back with its movement, and Mass Balance doesn't offer a split for a mirror pair. A Broker/Dealer's collection names its carrier under Collected By. The signed transfer note and its emails give the collection's reference (C311). Collect stops saying no signature is needed once extra waste is added. A removed schedule's season ticket no longer says it renews. Drop Off says how to add somewhere to drop off when there's nowhere yet. Returns to Producers takes each site's own contact. Free.
  • Clearer about plans and seats. Buying an add-on during its free trial now says, before you confirm, that the trial ends then. Manage Users says when there aren't enough office user seats for every pending invitation to be accepted. Messages a member can't act on themselves now say an admin needs to. Service notices fold up on a phone. Free.
  • Questions sent from Keith keep less. Card numbers, sort codes, National Insurance numbers and spaced-out permit and carrier numbers are now taken out of a question you send us, and only the day it was sent is kept. The box under Keith's answer says names stay in, and that a sent question can't be deleted. Free.
  • And more small things put right. We email you when two-step sign-in is turned off or a passkey is added or removed, and changing your password signs you out on your other devices. A record's total is in one unit when its loads were weighed in kilograms and tonnes. Import Records takes each vehicle's last safety inspection. Screens only an admin can use name your admins. NRW activity codes are checked against what the permit allows. A Receiver's first steps include checking its permit's waste codes, and setup videos say when one can't be loaded. A follow-up question you send from Keith goes with the question before it. Free.
  • Where a haulier's load came from. When a receipt doesn't know who produced the waste, Create, Edit and Receive Receipt (and Weigh Out) now show Waste From (Council), starting at the carrier's own council, with Change Council to pick where the waste was really collected. Your waste returns report the load under that council. It's on View Receipt, the receipts CSV and the record's history, and Import Records takes a Waste From Council column. Free to record; the returns are in the Waste Returns add-on.
  • Hazardous waste at an HWRC. A receipt given the household waste recycling centre reason for having no consignment note, when its carrier isn't a householder or its accepted hazardous waste is asbestos, is now warned about on the receipt, and listed as left off the EA's or NRW's consignee return. Neither stops you. Free; the return is in the Consignee Returns add-on.
  • Consignee returns add up identical lines. Lines under one consignment code that differ only in their weight are now one line with the kilograms added, so two items of one load, two loads under one code on one day and a carrier's round's stops add up. An outside carrier's multiple collection with no other load on the return from its round that day is pointed out, with Edit Receipt, and Edit Receipt says what the EA asks for when a received consignment note's details need correcting (Consignee Returns add-on).

  • The dashboard keeps up with the whole office. Your dashboard and Repeated Receipts, Movements and Collections now update by themselves whenever anyone in your organisation books, edits or removes a record or a repeated schedule, or a driver collects or drops off, not only when a customer signs online. Free.
  • A driver for a waste movement. A planned movement carried in one of your own vehicles, or by one of your sites, can now be given a driver on Create or Edit Movement, as a collection can: its collection shows on their Driver Home on its day. A movement's collection now has Edit Movement where Edit would be, opening the movement it follows. Free.
  • Correct a weigh-in. A load weighed in at the wrong gross (its net, say, or kilograms with the unit left on tonnes) can now be put right while it's on site, with Correct Weigh In in its Actions, on View Receipt, or Correct the Gross on Weigh Out, which now says so when the tare won't go under the gross. A load out's tare is corrected the same way, along with the tare remembered for the vehicle. The registration and time in stay as weighed, the change shows in the record's history, and it works with no signal. Free.
  • Disposal and recovery codes on show. Receipts and collections now show each waste item's disposal or recovery code rows straight away, as Waste Output already did, rather than behind a "Do you know how the waste is being treated?" switch. They're still optional: leave them blank if you don't know yet. Free.
  • Jobs a driver couldn't collect stand out. When a driver marks a job Not collected, Needs Attention now lists it from the first time, with the reason and what to do, and View Collection says Not collected at the top, with who, when and why, rather than Scheduled. The main button follows the reason: Close Collection when the customer cancelled, and Add to Round or Edit, to rebook it, when there was no access or the waste wasn't out. Once you give it a later date or put it on another round it's treated as rebooked, and goes back to its usual status. Free.
  • Carriers in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. A registration from the EA, NRW or SEPA is valid anywhere in Great Britain but not in Northern Ireland, and an NIEA one isn't valid in Great Britain. A customer, or your own organisation, can now have an Other UK Registration Number beside the first, from the other side, checked on the public register when it's saved and every night, like the first, and Import Records takes it in its own column. Each record names the number for where it happens: a receipt by the site receiving the waste, a movement by the site it leaves, and a collection by where it's collected, on its transfer note, its season ticket and what's sent to Defra. A carrier's schedule for a round and the booking email give both. The receipt, movement and collection forms warn, never block, when a carrier or broker has no registration for somewhere the waste goes, with Add registration to put it right without leaving the form. Free.
  • Dual-coded waste shared between its codes. Waste that carries two or more EWC codes on one item because its parts can't be separated, such as clinical waste, used to count in full under every code in Mass Balance, so the rows added up to more than the site held. An admin can now set a split for each set of codes on Mass Balance Splits (60% and 40%, say), and Mass Balance shares the weight that way, for what came in and what went out alike. Without one, the weight counts once, under the code your returns use, and Mass Balance says which codes need a split, with a link to add one. A split can't be set for a mirror pair, which is one code or the other, never both. The waste item forms, and Import Records for past receipts, now warn, without stopping you, of a mirror pair, codes with no split, several codes at a Scottish site and two hazardous codes. Your returns and Digital Waste Tracking are unchanged (Reporting add-on; the warnings free).
  • Mass Balance leaves out waste disposed of on site. Waste received under a final disposal or recovery code (D1 to D7, D10 to D12, R1 and R10, such as landfill or incineration), and a processing output that was landfilled, incinerated, used in restoration or became end-of-waste, no longer count as waste still on site, so they stop pushing a landfill or incinerator towards its storage limit on Permit Limits. They still count towards what the site received in the year (Reporting add-on).
  • Permits that have ended, on Needs Attention. A permit in use that its public register shows as ended, suspended or otherwise restricted, or no longer lists, is now on the dashboard's Needs Attention for everyone, not only flagged on Edit Site. Free.
  • A driver's paperwork. Drivers can open a collection's transfer note on their phone, to show if they're asked for it on the way: Open Transfer Note on Waste Collected, and later from Photos and signatures. For hazardous waste, the screen reminds them that its consignment note travels with it, on paper. Free.
  • Registrations in Scotland, and brokers on the free tool. SEPA's professional collector and transporter registrations (WCR/PC/) are accepted and looked up, with a warning that Defra's service doesn't take them yet. A Scottish registration past SEPA's expiry date now offers its renewal, if SEPA has granted one, with Use and the new number, and Needs Attention names it. The free transfer note tool refuses a broker's registration that doesn't cover broking or dealing. Free.
  • DAERA's return and an evenly shared round. NIEA's waste return now notes, without stopping you, a round whose waste had to be shared evenly between councils because none of its collections had a weight or a count, as DAERA asks for it to be shared by quantity (Waste Returns add-on).
  • Told when your password changes. Whenever a TIPPA password is reset or changed, the account holder is emailed, with what to do straight away if it wasn't them. A member disabled while signed in is taken to Log In, which says their account has been disabled. Free.
  • Lower tier registrations pointed out. A lower tier carrier or broker/dealer registration is now noted as soon as you continue or save, for your organisation and for a customer, without pressing Check registration first. The welcome email now goes once set-up is finished, so it fits the type of organisation you ended up choosing. Free.
  • Receipts put right. A tanker's volume with its unit left on Litres saves first time. A receipt from a template whose carrier has no registration number (one-off or marine) saves. A receipt in one of your own vehicles has no Invoicing section, on templates and repeated receipts too, and the receipt and movement lists name the vehicle, "Tipper 1 (AB12 CDE)", rather than your organisation. Loose waste no longer shows "0 containers" beside its number of items. Load Quarantined says the load isn't sent to Defra until some of it is accepted, with Defra's deadline. A typed registration is spaced as Weigh In spaces it. Free.
  • At the weighbridge. Price hints no longer send a weighbridge operator to Prices, which they can't open. The On Site card lists the vehicle on site longest first, by the time typed in. The receipt PDF gives the net weight. A planned load's "A load is planned for..." message goes once it's answered. Free.
  • One Change Mode on Driver Home. Someone who drives as well as working in the office or on the weighbridge now has one Change Mode on Driver Home, in place of two banners, as the dashboard and Weighbridge Home have. Free.
  • Vehicles and checks. Record Inspection's Brakes Tested is now a Yes or No that must be answered, rather than starting at No. The odometer is in miles on vehicle checks and inspections, shown as "120,450 miles", and a reading typed in km is pointed out rather than saved as miles. Arrange and Edit Collection warn when the vehicle picked is off the road, as Plan Round does. Plated Weight is only asked of a Receiver, who uses it at Weigh In. Free.
  • Collections and rounds. A collection's transfer note keeps a loose item nobody counted or weighed in its "How much waste?" list. When a job marked Not collected is collected after all, its alert says "Collected after all" and is marked read for everyone. Rounds' count of collections not on a round yet now matches Plan Round's (Round Planning add-on).
  • Movements and permits. View Movement gives the destination's address and its permit or exemption. A permit gone from its register no longer shows the status it last had there, and a permit's return settings name each nation's own hazardous return. Free.
  • Signing pages say they're signed. Once a season ticket, amendment or collection's transfer note is signed online, its page says so at the top, in place of still asking. An amendment's emails and signing page name the ticket it changes ("Amends T1"), and the version choice gives one last day for the version in force (Repeated Records add-on; collections free).
  • Your own address on invoices. Invoicing Settings' Address on Your Invoices can now be Same as the organisation's address, read from Manage Organisation each time an invoice is made, or a different one. An invoice's email gives your bank details to pay by, as its reminder does. A reminder sent before the due date isn't worded as overdue. Customer Account lists written-off invoices, each opening the invoice so it can be undone (Invoicing add-on).
  • Skip hire. View Hire says when a hire period or road permit from before Invoicing was switched on won't go on an invoice by itself, and Book Exchange and Book Take Away start the waste's Container Type at the skip on hire (Skip Hire add-on).
  • Reports with totals. Receipt, Waste Output and Collection Reports start on This Year and, once run, show totals for everything they match: how many, what was weighed, and estimates for what isn't weighed yet, in tonnes. Weights are grouped by thousands (12,500 Kilograms). Export JSON gives the same columns as the CSV, and the CSVs count loose waste ("40 loose items") and call your own vehicle One of Our Vehicles (Reporting add-on).
  • Waste returns. NRW's, SEPA's and NIEA's returns ask for a missing weighbridge answer and percentage weighed together, as the EA's does. NIEA's file is named by DAERA's quarter and year (Q2-2026-27 for July to September 2026). A late yearly return no longer says "This quarter is late". The declaration's email, which isn't on NRW's or NIEA's form, is only needed to send their return from TIPPA, not to download it or mark it as sent (Waste Returns add-on).
  • Plans and users. Changing a plan that's set to end now says, before you confirm, that it keeps the plan. Lowering office users lists any invitations that would then have no seat, each with Cancel invitation, and Enable says which invitations are holding seats. Accepting or declining an invitation is in the Activity Log, Decline asks first, and the invitation email says which role it's for. Change Role on your own row speaks to you, and says why the only administrator can't step down.
  • Help and Feature Requests. In the web app, reporting a problem from a half-filled form offers Back to Your Form, with what you'd typed. The email telling voters about a request's progress opens that request. Feature Requests' Status filter has Not planned, and your own suggestion isn't offered back to you as one to vote for. Free.
  • Only what's used is asked. Vehicle Left no longer asks why the vehicle left. A Scottish or Northern Irish site isn't asked for an outside carrier's multiple collection numbers, which only England's and Wales's consignee returns use. Manage Organisation asks only a Receiver for its SIC code, and a customer is asked for a SIC code, permit or local authority area only where it goes on paperwork or a return: never a broker's, for example. Free.
  • Signatures and producers on the paperwork. A waste movement's transfer note now carries the carrier's signature, as a receipt's carries its own. SEPA's and NIEA's copies of a hazardous consignment note name the producer picked on the receipt, not only one from your own collection (Consignee Returns add-on; the movement's note is free).
  • Small things. Adding a site says both contact fields are needed. A Broker/Dealer's registration is called a broker/dealer registration in Manage Organisation. The sign-in screens have headings, and each list row's menu is named for its row, for screen readers. Getting Started Videos is never covered by the account security prompt. Emails' plain-text copies keep a table's columns apart.
  • Rejections from a round go to the right producer. Waste rejected from a round's load is now emailed only to the producers whose collections it came from, each with only their own waste. Waste added on arrival goes to nobody, and the notice says to tell its producer yourself. When the load has a consignment code, the notice reminds you the email isn't the consignment note copy: mark Part E and send the copies. A customer whose email address has unsubscribed is named, rather than said to be emailed. Free.
  • Returns to Producers kept up to date. A producer's return whose lines have changed since it was sent now says so on its row, on Returns Due and in Needs Attention, and Send to All sends it again as a correction. Quarantined waste holds back only a producer's return with nothing else on it; otherwise it's a warning, and accepting the waste later marks the return as changed. The email says it lists only the waste accepted, a Welsh site's return cites Wales's own regulations, and a Northern Irish site is told its regulation 41 return is still sent by hand (Consignee Returns add-on).

  • Stop suggesting a waste description. The descriptions offered as you type a Waste Description now have a ✕ beside each. Tap it and that description isn't suggested to anyone in your organisation again, with Undo under the field in case it was a slip. Useful for a misspelling or a one-off. Records that already use it don't change. The suggestions are also ranked by how often each is really used, now that a busy description can't crowd the rest out. Free.
  • Reloading keeps your place. In the web app, reloading the page, or tapping Reload when a new version of Tippa is ready, now brings you back to the screen you were on, on the same record, rather than to the dashboard. Anything typed into a form and not yet saved is still lost, so save first. Free.
  • Check Prices, step by step. Check Prices, and a draft invoice's Before It Can Go, now set out what stops your invoices going as numbered steps to work through in order, the fix that puts the most right first (such as a price that starts too late, with the date to start it from). Each step says what's wrong, why and what to do, with its jobs under each customer and a Set Weight button beside each job that needs a weight. Jobs still waiting to be weighed in are listed last, as there's nothing to do but wait. Check Prices can also show each customer's invoice on its own, with its steps: tap By Customer (Invoicing add-on).
  • Prices that start when you need them. A new charge's first price now covers every job you haven't invoiced yet, whatever its date, unless you choose a date, so setting up a charge after the work has started no longer leaves that work unpriced. Where a price does start after some jobs, Start Price Earlier on the problem starts it on the earliest job's date in one tap, from a draft invoice, Check Prices or the job itself, and Edit Charge has Start Earlier. View Collection and View Receipt now set out anything that stops the job being invoiced as the same numbered steps as a draft invoice, naming the waste item and, for a round weighed in together, how many collections shared the weight, each with its button. A charge per tonne or kg reminds carriers that round work has no weight of its own (Invoicing add-on).
  • Help adding your first site. Adding a site now links to each regulator's public register (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland), so you can find your permit number by your business name or postcode, and says when it's waiting for a register to answer, which can take up to half a minute. It also says that Waste Returns, Weighbridge and Other Details can be filled in later, and a new organisation's first site starts with the contact details it has just given. If you sign up and don't finish setting up, we'll email you once, a day later, with what's left and how to get help. Free.
  • Assigned collections. A collection given to a driver on its own, not on a round, now shows as Assigned rather than Arranged, so you can see at a glance that a driver has it on their list. Arranged now means nobody has it yet, and Scheduled still means it's on a round. View Collections and Collection Reports can filter by Assigned too. Free.
  • Alerts for the office. A bell at the top of every screen now counts new alerts about things to act on: a collection a driver couldn't make, a vehicle check that found defects or took a vehicle off the road, a skip delivery not done, a pickup a driver added to their round, a season ticket renewal ready to send, paused or signed, a transfer note signed online, something done with no signal that couldn't be saved, a load Defra didn't accept, an email to a customer that bounced (a receipt's, a collection's, a season ticket's, a hire reminder, an invoice, a statement or a reminder), and a customer's or your own carrier registration that's lapsed. Tap one to open what it's about; Alerts lists them, newest first, until you've looked. In the web app, turn on notifications to be told on your phone or computer even with Tippa closed: none are sent between 9pm and 7am. Each person chooses which alerts they get in My Profile, My Alerts, and nobody is told about what they did themselves. Weighbridge operators get Defra's and email alerts for their own sites. The existing emails still go. Free (the skip, season ticket and invoice alerts come with their add-ons).
  • One van, one drop-off. When a driver collects a job given to them on its own, or records a pickup, in the van of one of their rounds that day, it now joins that round: it's a stop on the round, its waste goes with the round's single Drop Off and onto its planned receipt, rather than a second card and a second Drop Off for the same van. It works with no signal too. On the Rounds screen and the dashboard's Today's Rounds, a stop the driver added says so ("Added by Jo at 09:20: was a job of its own"), as do unplanned pickups, the round's history lists it, and the office gets a Stop added alert. With the Round Planning add-on.
  • Season Ticket Emails. Organisation Settings' Notifications screen, which chooses who gets the season ticket emails, is now called Season Ticket Emails.
  • Help us improve Keith. When Keith can't answer a question, you can tap Send This Question to TIPPA under his answer, so we can see what his help is missing and fill the gap. Only that question is sent, without your name or organisation, and with email addresses, phone numbers and similar details taken out. We keep it for 90 days. Everything else you ask him still isn't kept. Free.
  • Yearly returns for yearly permits. The Waste Return screen now offers Annual only for a permit set to report yearly, and the Environment Agency's yearly return can be sent from Tippa, with its history and technical competence answer (Waste Returns add-on).
  • The EA's October form. GOV.UK replaced the Environment Agency's waste return form (V17) on 20 October, and new returns use it. Its question about several facility types has gone, so Edit Site no longer asks it. The technical competence answer starts on changed when the site was edited after the permit's last return, and Changed since sent now notices edits to a site's or customer's details that the return uses (Waste Returns add-on).
  • One return for a mobile plant permit. All the deployments under one mobile plant permit now make one EA return, named after the permit (Mobile plant AB1234CD), at the address the permit is issued to, which you give on the permit's card on Edit Site. Sending it from any deployment counts for all of them, and Returns Due asks once (Waste Returns add-on).

  • Count loose waste, and measure liquids. Loose waste, such as tyres or fridges, now has a Number of Items in place of its 0 containers, and a load in a tanker, IBC, drum or other liquid container can have its volume in litres or m³. Each is set when the work is planned and corrected at Collect or on the receipt, and shows on transfer notes, receipts and their emails, run sheets, season tickets, consignment note copies, statements and exports ("40 items" rather than "0 × Loose"). Importing a transfer note reads them too. Neither goes to Digital Waste Tracking, which still needs the weight. Free.
  • Charge per item, per litre or per m³. A charge can now be Per item (each container, or each loose item counted), Per litre or Per m³, as carriers charge for tyres, mattresses, tankers and interceptors. A per item or volume charge on a job with nothing counted is pointed out on its price rather than charged as one, and Change Pricing can give a dropped-off collection the number of items or volume to invoice on (Invoicing add-on).
  • Try any add-on free for a month. An admin can now try any add-on, or extra sites, vehicles or office users, free for a month from Manage Subscriptions on the web, once each and only if your organisation hasn't had it before. Before it starts, Tippa says what it would cost afterwards, and the admins are emailed 3 days before the month is up. If you have a plan then, it's added at its usual price (for sites, vehicles and users, only the extra ones in use); if you don't, it stops and nothing is charged. End it early at any time, also free. The phone apps show a trial and when it ends.
  • NRW returns for each activity under one permit. A Welsh permit covering more than one waste operation, such as a landfill with composting, can now list each activity with its own NRW facility type and the disposal or recovery codes it takes, and Tippa makes, sends and keeps a return for each, as Natural Resources Wales asks. Each load goes on the activity its code belongs to; where it could be either, the Waste Return screen asks which, and can remember the answer for that waste code (Waste Returns add-on).
  • Council and biodegradable waste on NRW's return. NRW's return now says Yes for waste delivered by or for a council, and for biodegradable waste such as green, food, paper and wood waste, and leaves the rest blank, as NRW reads a blank as No (Waste Returns add-on).
  • SEPA's return checked more closely. If not all of a Scottish site's waste is weighed, SEPA's return now asks how the rest was worked out before it can be sent, as SEPA's form does. Additional information that won't fit beside Tippa's sentence about loads from several councils is pointed out, rather than cut short, and a quarter whose only waste was landfilled or incinerated on site is no longer sent as a nil return. NRW's return warns when its form can no longer take the year (Waste Returns add-on).
  • Defra's deadline on every load it hasn't taken. Every load Defra hasn't accepted, whatever the reason, now gives Defra's deadline for it, and says when it has passed. The Needs Fixing and unpaid charge emails list each load's deadline, and an unpaid charge says to press Retry once it's paid. Free.
  • What the regulations ask Defra to be told. An accepted waste item on a received load with no disposal or recovery code now warns that the regulations ask for one (Defra still takes the load). A carrier or broker missing details the regulations ask for (in Wales, its address, email and phone; in England and Scotland, a broker's address) is pointed out on the receipt and on Add and Edit Customer. Neither stops you. Free.
  • Defra's service charge date. Digital Waste Tracking Settings shows when your Defra service charge runs out, and admins see it in Needs Attention from 30 days before. Free.
  • Past loads not sent to Defra. Import Records says which past loads Defra needs, and past receipts imported without sending are listed in Needs Attention for each site, with View opening just those receipts. Free.
  • Defra's refusals in Tippa's words. When Defra refuses a load, Tippa names the field and what's wrong in its own words, rather than showing Defra's message. Free.

  • Get Started on your dashboard. Admins now see the setup steps left at the top of the dashboard, each ticked by itself once it's done, with a Go button to do it: for a site, checking what its permit allows (nothing can be received until it lists the waste codes), Digital Waste Tracking, a first customer and a first load; for a carrier or broker, your address, drivers, producers and a first collection. Hide it if you don't need it, and bring it back from Getting Started Videos under Help. Free.
  • A customer template for each kind of customer. Import Records now offers a Customers template for carriers, broker/dealers, destination facilities, business producers and household producers, each with only the columns that customer needs, beside the one with every column. A carrier with no registration number can be imported too, with Defra's reason (One-off or Marine). Free.
  • Screens update by themselves. When a customer signs a season ticket or a collection's transfer note online, your dashboard, Repeated Receipts, Movements and Collections, and the schedule you have open show it straight away, with the collections it arranges, without a refresh. A photo or signature sent from a phone by its QR code appears on the computer within a second, and Driver Home shows the office's changes to a driver's day as soon as they're made. Free.
  • Hazardous rounds across the England–Wales border get a round number. A round collecting hazardous waste in both England and Wales is a multiple collection again, as the Hazardous Waste Regulations' Schedule 7 says, so its stops share a hazardous round number and go on your consignee return as one. Only a stop in Scotland or Northern Ireland, which have carrier's rounds of their own, takes the round number away. Round Planning add-on.
  • Waste returns name the metropolitan county. A line made up of collections from two districts of one metropolitan county, such as Leeds and Bradford, now gives West Yorkshire as its origin on your waste return, rather than the whole region, as the Environment Agency asks for the smallest area.
  • Dual-coded waste on your returns. A waste item with two EWC codes, such as clinical waste coded 18 01 03* and 18 01 09, is now reported under its hazardous code on your waste returns, whichever code was entered first. The button for a second code now says it's for dual-coded waste only: different wastes in one load each need their own item.
  • The carrier's signature, followed up. The law asks both parties to a transfer to sign, so TIPPA no longer calls an outside carrier's signature optional. Needs Attention lists a collection an outside carrier took in the last 30 days, and a season ticket, that the carrier hasn't signed, and a repeated schedule's season ticket line says when it's still awaiting the carrier's signature. Nothing waits for it.
  • A check on householders. Only a householder bringing their own household waste needs no carrier registration, so TIPPA now warns when a household customer's name reads like a business, or a householder's load has waste outside the household chapter of the List of Waste. It never stops you.
  • Carriers with no registration number. A carrier customer that doesn't normally carry waste, or whose waste came by sea under a marine licence, can now be saved without a registration number, giving Defra's reason (One-off or Marine), which goes to Digital Waste Tracking in its place. A broker or dealer must still be registered.
  • A missed return stays on Returns Due. A return that wasn't sent for an earlier quarter now stays on the dashboard's Returns Due, marked Late, until it's sent or marked as sent, for up to two years, rather than dropping off when the next quarter ends. Needs Attention lists it too. A hazardous load turned away with only a reject reference now counts towards the consignee return being due.
  • No blank SIC codes on DAERA's return. A load a haulier brought in now gives 38.11, waste collection, in the waste summary return's SIC column, as DAERA's guidance says to use the carrier's code when you don't know where the waste came from, and a note says which lines.
  • Season tickets have their own number. Each version of a season ticket now has a reference, such as T12, on its PDF, its emails, the signing page and the schedule's panel, in place of a long code, and a renewal or amendment names the one it follows by it. Type it into Repeated Receipts, Movements or Collections to find the schedule. Who signs it starts blank for you to type the person, rather than the company's name (Repeated Records add-on).
  • Not collected on a driver's own job. A collection given to a driver on its own, under Your jobs on Driver Home, can now be marked Not collected with why and photos, as a stop on a round can, and the office sees it on the collection.
  • Find things faster. View Movements, View Processing and View Collections can be narrowed by dates, as View Receipts can. Customers can be found by their address or postcode. Collections find a vehicle registration however it's spaced. Containers on Hire says when a search matches hires under another Show (a skip only booked, say), with a button to show them, and Vehicle Dates' search now works.
  • The weighbridge finishes a load out. A weighbridge operator can now take the haulier's signature and give them the transfer note for a load out from the bridge, and add a hazardous load's producer, as they can for a load coming in. Sending a consignment note copy to SEPA or NIEA stays with the office. Free.
  • Drivers can search for an address. Delivering a skip somewhere other than the customer's address, or recording an unplanned pickup, now finds the address from what the driver types, rather than only by entering it by hand.
  • Saving twice on a weak signal. If a save seems to fail but went through, saving again no longer makes a second copy: repeated schedules (and their season ticket email), contracts, statements and reminders, an invoice's extra lines, Arrange Collection from Plan Round, opening balances and vehicle inspections all now recognise the first one.
  • Booked skip jobs stay in step. While a skip has an exchange or take-away booked, the office can't also exchange, take away, remove or move that hire by hand, so the driver's job is never left pointing at a skip that's gone; finish or close the booked job first. Moving a booked delivery's date past the round it's on is refused until it's taken off that round (Skip Hire add-on).
  • A credit note after a write-off. A credit note on an invoice you've written off now comes off the write-off first, rather than leaving the customer in credit for money they never paid (Invoicing add-on).
  • Try Again everywhere on the dashboard. Every dashboard card that can't load says so with a Try Again button, rather than looking empty, and so do Copy to Another Day, Change Pricing and View Invoice. A failed load just after signing in shows Try Again rather than the setup screens.
  • Consignment codes Defra won't take. A SEPA or NIEA consignment code typed with spaces or the wrong number of digits is now pointed out on the waste item, as Defra won't accept it for Digital Waste Tracking. It never stops you. Free.
  • Small things put right. Rejecting part of a weighed load takes its weight off the waste you're accepting. A load marked Paid on the day warns you if it comes to nothing. A customer's waste statement adds tonnes and kilograms together, with a total. Bags and sacks tick Sacks on a transfer note. Plan Round lists everything missing at once. A hire's notes show to the driver on the job, and Take Away and Exchange can add to them.
  • Told when a sent return goes out of date. If a receipt or movement in a return's period is added, edited, removed or restored after the return went (a weight corrected, a load back-dated, waste accepted out of quarantine, or a load received after a return sent early), Returns Due and Sent Returns say Changed since sent, and Needs Attention lists it. Opening the return says whether what it would send now is different, so you can send a correction (Waste Returns add-on).
  • Yearly returns, permit by permit. Each permit's waste return can be Quarterly or Annual, set under the permit on Edit Site, and Returns Due and the Waste Return screen follow it. The Environment Agency's return can now be made for a whole year too, and a SEPA registration (EAS/R) can be a site's authorisation, filing yearly from the start (Waste Returns add-on).
  • A second permit's own details. A permit that's a different operation from the rest of the site can give its returns its own facility type (the EA's or NRW's) or SEPA's main treatment. Free.
  • What became of processed waste. At a Scottish or Northern Irish site, each output of a processing record can say whether it was landfilled, incinerated or used in landfill restoration on site (SEPA's return now fills in its "LF-IN" sheet from these) or became an end-of-waste product, with DAERA's product code (reported on NIEA's return). Free to record; the returns are in the Waste Returns add-on.
  • SEPA's area codes for a round's loads. A load collected from more than one Scottish council goes on SEPA's return under their waste strategy area or SEPA region rather than just Scotland, with a sentence explaining it in the return's additional information (Waste Returns add-on).
  • When a site's regulator changes. If Tippa's overnight check finds a site's main permit on another nation's register, or no longer on its register, administrators see it in Needs Attention and on Edit Site, with who its returns now go to, until they mark it as dealt with. Free.
  • Quarantined waste in Mass Balance. Waste held in quarantine is on site, so it now counts in Mass Balance and in a permit's tonnes stored at any one time, though not as received until it's accepted, and each row says how much is held (Reporting add-on).
  • The returns' details put right. DAERA's newer form (version 92b) for Northern Ireland, with the lengths it allows for names, positions and phone numbers. A mobile plant deployment's EA return goes under its mobile plant permit. NRW's return reminds a landfill to give its remaining capacity in January's return. SEPA's management methods go by each load's code first, the site's main treatment only settling codes with several meanings. And the EA's form warns when it can no longer take the year (Waste Returns add-on).
  • Where a haulier's load came from. A haulier's hazardous load is now reported from where it was collected (its consignment note's postcode), not the haulier's own area, and English cities whose names differ on Defra's list (Bristol, Leicester, Nottingham, Hull and others) are placed correctly rather than by region (Waste Returns add-on).
  • Busy sites' returns. Each return now adds up loads it can't tell apart into one line, as every regulator allows, so a busy site stays within the forms' limits, and a return reads up to 25,000 receipts and movements rather than stopping at 5,000 (Waste Returns add-on).
  • What a registration covers. Tippa now checks that a carrier, broker or dealer registration covers what the customer or your organisation does, not just that it's current, and flags one that doesn't. Scottish registrations are read from SEPA's transporters register, Northern Ireland licences are given as Defra wants them, a permit that has ended or left its register is flagged, and a Scottish registration past SEPA's expiry date is warned about (SEPA still grants it). Free.
  • Records kept for as long as the law asks. Deleting a received record now needs an administrator and a reason, and anything removed can be seen under Show: Removed and restored. Every edit to a receipt, movement, processing record or collection shows what it said before. A signed season ticket stays downloadable after the add-on ends or its schedule is removed, a cleared online signature is kept, and deleting your organisation keeps what the paperwork needs. Free.
  • Rejected hazardous loads on the consignee return. A hazardous load rejected under a wrong consignment code is reported under a reject reference, so its quarter can be sent. An outside carrier's multiple collection can be recorded on the receipt and goes on the EA's and NRW's returns. A Scottish or Northern Irish site is told when hazardous waste was accepted with no consignment note, so it can tell SEPA or NIEA (Consignee Returns add-on).
  • The waste hierarchy on every transfer note. Every transfer note Tippa makes now ticks the box confirming the waste hierarchy was applied, and whoever signs as the one handing the waste over, on your device or online, sees the statement beside where they sign. Free.
  • Customers' SIC codes, and carriers' permits. A carrier or a business producer can now have its own SIC code, on Add Customer and the customer import, and it goes on transfer notes and season tickets. A carrier's own permit or exemption goes beside its registration on transfer notes and season tickets, and a receipt from a householder or a producer fills in the note's producer box. A haulier's load on DAERA's return gives the haulier's own SIC code, or 38.11 if it has none. Free.
  • Signatures kept, and changes after signing shown. Replacing or removing a signature on a receipt, movement or collection now keeps the old one, under Earlier signatures, and a removed consignment note photo stays under Removed consignment note photos. Whoever took a signature can change it for 30 minutes; after that only an admin can, giving a reason, and every change is in the Activity Log. If a record changes after it was signed, View says so, and its transfer note and receipt PDF say it was changed in Tippa after it was signed. Free.
  • A round's waste reported under each council it came from. When a round's collections from different councils are weighed in as one waste item, your waste returns now share it between those councils, by the collections' estimates, else their containers, else evenly, so a round never holds up a return; SEPA's return says how it was shared. A hazardous round's lines give each stop's own area, and a drum rejected from one stop no longer takes the round's other stops off their producers' returns. There's nothing to pick: Tippa remembers which collection each item came from. A return already sent for such a quarter may now show Changed since sent (Waste Returns and Consignee Returns add-ons).

  • Returns to Producers. In England and Wales, a site that accepts hazardous waste must send each producer a return of what it accepted from them within a month of the quarter's end. Reporting, Returns to Producers makes each one on the official form from your receipts, and emails it to the producer from Tippa (one at a time, or Send to All Not Yet Sent), with a copy to your contact and their replies going to them. Or download it, send it yourself and mark it as sent. Loads that don't say who produced them are listed, with Add Producer to name theirs. Returns Due reminds you until every producer has had theirs, and a return whose email bounces says so and isn't counted as sent (Consignee Returns add-on).
  • Hazardous receipts name their producer. A hazardous receipt now says who produced the waste: taken from your collection when you carried it, from an imported consignment note, or picked or typed on the receipt, and added or changed from View Receipt. It's on the receipt's PDF and export, and the producer is emailed when their waste is rejected. Free.
  • Defra's deadline, wherever a load is waiting. Defra wants each load by the end of the second working day after it arrives. When a load can't be sent yet, View Receipt, Needs Attention and the email a day later give its deadline, and say when to tell your regulator: not for an outage Defra has announced. A problem on Tippa's side is now shown apart from Defra's service being down, as Tippa Can't Send, so it's never mistaken for Defra's outage; Tippa tries again every hour either way. Free.
  • Quarantine and Defra's deadline. A load held in quarantine still waits until you decide what to do with it, but Defra's two working days run from when it arrived. From the working day after, Needs Attention lists it with its deadline, and View Receipt and Resolve Quarantine say it too. Free.
  • A load Defra keeps after you remove it. Defra has no way to withdraw a load, so when you delete a receipt Defra already has, or edit all its waste off one of your permits, the delete box, View Receipt's new Left at Defra and Needs Attention say to ring Defra's Digital Waste Tracking helpdesk (03000 203 781) with its Waste Tracking ID, and that a mistake is corrected within a month of finding it. Once Defra's record is right, an administrator presses Mark as Corrected at Defra, kept in the receipt's History. Free.
  • Loads sent with no D&R code. Defra accepts a load with no disposal or recovery code, but says it needs one. Needs Attention now counts them for each site, and View opens View Receipts on just those loads, each put right with Add DnR, which sends it again. Free.
  • More than, or less than, a concentration. A hazardous component's concentration can be given as more than a figure (>), and a persistent organic pollutant's as more or less than one (< or >), as Defra allows. The sign is on the waste item editors and templates, Import Records ("Lead > 1200"), imported consignment notes, and everything that shows the concentration, and it goes to Defra with it. Free.
  • Scotland and Northern Ireland, ready for January. From 1 January 2027, when reporting to Defra becomes the law there, a Scottish or Northern Irish site without Digital Waste Tracking set up is counted in Needs Attention, with no update needed. Loads from any nation are already sent once your Defra API code is saved. Free.
  • Put a collection on a round from the collection. Add to Round is on a collection's menus, View Collection and the Arrange and Edit confirmations: pick the day and the driver's round, or plan a new round starting with it. One already on a round still to run has Move to Another Round, which takes it off the old round in the same step (Round Planning add-on).
  • Upcoming Collections, your next step. Each collection on the dashboard's Upcoming Collections has the same Actions menu as View Collections, so you can collect it, put it on a round, edit it or close it from there, rather than only Collect. Free.
  • Check Prices. Prices has Check Prices: everything that would stop your draft invoices being sent, across all your customers, each problem said once with why, what to do and the jobs it's on, and Change Pricing beside each collection (Invoicing add-on).
  • Transfer notes with everything the law asks for. Give your organisation's SIC code in Manage Organisation, and a site its own if it differs: it's on every transfer note and season ticket where you hand waste over. Any customer but a householder can have their environmental permit or exemption (a WEX number too), which season tickets and a carrier's schedule print for a destination, never its carrier registration. When your own vehicle takes waste to a customer's facility, its transfer note and season ticket name that facility as taking the waste, at its address. Free.
  • Hazardous waste off every transfer note. Receipts', collections' and movements' transfer notes leave off hazardous waste (a hazardous EWC code, or an item containing hazardous properties) and say why: it moves on a consignment note. A load that's all hazardous has no transfer note, and View Collection and View Movement say so. Free.
  • The carrier can sign too. When a carrier from your customers takes the waste, it can sign a collection's transfer note as well, from a link of its own (Send to Carrier, in Carrier's Signature on View Collection). Its signature is optional: the note stands on the producer's. A season ticket's carrier is sent its link with the customer's (Repeated Records add-on). Signed PDFs name who signed for which party, and a collection your vehicle carries has your electronic signature, the name of whoever recorded it. Free for collections.
  • Transfer notes for Scotland and Northern Ireland. A transfer in Scotland or Northern Ireland now gets Tippa's own transfer note rather than the Environment Agency's, with what those nations ask for: who each carrier is registered with and who issued each permit, the waste's origin and destination in Northern Ireland, and the waste hierarchy declaration under each nation's own law. Season tickets and collections signed online say the same. A customer's WEX exemption goes in the note's exemption box. Free.
  • Transfer notes keep the details of the day. Once waste has changed hands, its transfer note keeps the names, addresses, permits and SIC codes it had then, so a note downloaded months later still matches the transfer, even after a customer moves. Free.
  • Suggestions stay put while they load. A search field's suggestions stay on screen while new matches load, and update in place, so a tap on one just as you stop typing is never lost. Free.

  • Change a collection's pricing after it's dropped off. View Collection's What This Would Cost has Change Pricing: who's billed, the PO, a job price, extras, and a weight to invoice on for any waste item, even once the collection can't be edited. A weight to invoice on is used for charges per tonne in place of the receipt's or the estimate, and is for invoicing only: the transfer note and Defra don't change (Invoicing add-on).
  • A draft invoice says what's wrong once, and why. Before It Can Go says each problem once for all the jobs it's on ("loose packaging needs a weight on 11 records"), with why and what to do, and each collection has Change Pricing right there. A missing price says when the charge's price starts if that's after the job, and a missing weight and a missing price show together. Suggestions to turn on estimated weights only appear when the waste has estimates (Invoicing add-on).
  • A mixed load's weights are estimates. At Weigh Out and Load Out, the shares of the net you give a load's several waste items are saved, and sent to Defra, as estimates, since one weighing can't tell them apart. For a weighed weight for each EWC code, weigh each code as a load of its own: on a round, the driver drops off one code at a time. Free.
  • One line for each type of waste in a vehicle. When your own vehicle brings several collections to your site, on a round or not, non-hazardous waste with the same EWC code is now one waste item on the planned receipt, as it's mixed together in the vehicle, so the weighbridge weighs it as one. Its estimates are added up. Hazardous waste is never merged: each consignment keeps its own items. Free for organisations that both carry and receive.
  • Brokers can finish a collection. When the carrier you booked has collected, press Carrier Has Collected on the collection. Give the date and time, and the weight they gave you for each waste item if they did. The collection moves to Collected, with the carrier's weights on it and on its transfer note, so it can go on an invoice. A per-tonne price uses those weights, and Bill To can bill the carrier rather than the producer (Invoicing add-on). Free.
  • Setting up, one step at a time. Set Up Your Organisation now asks what your organisation does first, then its details, with Back to change your answer without losing anything typed. A carrier's or broker's contact email and phone say which one is optional once the other is filled in. The tab left open to verify your email notices once the link is used and says to carry on in the new one, or carry on there instead. Add Customer shows its fields once you've picked what kind of customer it is. Free.
  • Import Records, clearer. Each step has its own numbered card. For every column with fixed answers, Allowed Values lists them, with Defra's own lists fetched from Defra and a search on the long ones. Required columns are marked with a * in the template, and Choose Another File checks the new file straight away. Free.
  • Hazardous waste's paperwork, kept right. A hazardous EWC code can no longer give "Non-hazardous waste transfer" as the reason it has no consignment code, so Defra is never sent it. Hazardous waste accepted with no consignment note is left off the EA's and NRW's consignee returns, with a note saying so to tell the regulator yourself. A SEPA or NIEA consignment code in the wrong shape is warned about, and its copy held back until it's fixed. The receipt PDF now has the load's consignment details and signatures, and the transfer note its signatures.
  • A removed customer doesn't stop a planned load. A load planned with a carrier or broker you've since removed can still be received and edited, keeping the carrier as it was booked, as Remove Customer promises. Templates naming a removed carrier or other party now say so wherever they're used.
  • Back keeps your place. Going back to View Receipts, View Movements, View Collections and the other lists keeps the search and filters you'd set. View Receipts shows each load's waste and registration, and its badge says why a load isn't with Defra: DWT Not Set Up, Defra Not Answering, Defra Charge Unpaid or Needs Fixing.
  • Clearer Digital Waste Tracking messages. "Digital Waste Tracking isn't set up" reads the same everywhere and no longer looks like an error. Defra's emails name each load's receipt and tracking ID, and an unpaid Defra service charge says it's Defra's to pay, and that the load goes by itself once it's paid.
  • Rejections and quarantine say what happened. A rejection's confirmation and Resolve Quarantine say plainly whether the carrier will be emailed. Quarantine Resolved and Load Rejected have View Receipt, and a resolved quarantine shows when it was resolved and what was decided. View Receipts shows a quarantined or rejected load's waste and weight.
  • Steadier at the weighbridge. A reading over 44 tonnes or under 500 kg asks "Is this reading right?" before it's saved, so a kilogram figure isn't saved as tonnes. Vehicle Left says what happened to the load. Weigh In and Load Out won't make a walk-in while a planned load's offer is still unanswered, and Needs Attention's "Still on site" goes by the time typed in. Free.
  • Collections and rounds. A driver can add photos and the producer's signature to a stop after collecting it. Collect and Unplanned Pickup warn, and ask first, before recording waste in a van a vehicle check has put off the road. A stop can still be taken off a round once another is collected. A planned receipt keeps its reference when its load is re-planned, and Collect doesn't ask for a producer's signature for waste from your own site. A collection with nothing to charge no longer makes a £0.00 draft invoice (Invoicing add-on).
  • Moves between permits, tidied up. A move between permits on one site names no carrier, offers only the D&R codes the permit it goes to allows, and its fix button says Edit Move. Transfer notes made in Tippa now fill in who issued the site's permit and the carrier's registration line.
  • Emails and PDFs in UK dates. The receipt PDF and the carrier's confirmation and rejection emails give dates as 16/10/2026. The confirmation names a hazardous item's source, gives its consignment code, says why the attached transfer note leaves off hazardous waste, and replies go to the receiving site.
  • Reports that export what you see. Export waits for Run Report and comes out in the screen's order, and Mass Balance names each EWC code by its List of Wastes description (Reporting add-on). An exchanged skip's Road Permits says its permits moved to the new skip, and a skip number typed not quite as the register has it suggests the register's (Skip Hire add-on).
  • Never stuck setting up a carrier. Add Your First Vehicle now has Change Organisation Type, for anyone who ticked Carrier by mistake. Export Organisation Data includes your organisation's own details.
  • Free tools on the website. The waste transfer note tool lists every missing field at once and marks each one, and warns when a registration isn't on the public register. The EWC code finder reads codes written 17-01-07, and a search for a chapter's number puts that chapter first.

  • Carrier's rounds in Scotland and Northern Ireland. A round collecting hazardous (special) waste from several premises, all in Scotland or all in Northern Ireland, can now go on one consignment note. Plan a Round offers it, and the round's SEPA or DAERA code reaches every hazardous stop and the driver. Rounds and the driver's phone download its carrier's schedule, a sheet per premises with the producer's signature from Collect. Tippa reminds you when to pre-notify DAERA, or SEPA when the waste leaves Scotland, and keeps a record of when you did; it doesn't send anything itself. Drop Off warns a driver about to split the round's hazardous waste or take it somewhere else. At your own site it's one receipt, its copy to SEPA or NIEA comes with the schedule, and the EA's or NRW's consignee return has it as one entry. Round Planning add-on.
  • Scottish and Northern Irish waste on your consignee return. Hazardous waste from Scotland or Northern Ireland received at a site in England or Wales no longer holds up the EA's or NRW's consignee return: its consignment note code is converted to the format they want (SA3876543 becomes SCA038/76543), and it's entered as a single consignment. Consignee Returns add-on.
  • Your own loads, expected at your own site. A collection booked in one of your own vehicles to one of your own sites now waits there as a planned receipt from the moment it's arranged, so the weighbridge finds it by the vehicle's registration rather than booking it in as a walk-in. That vehicle's collections to the same site on the same day share one receipt (hazardous waste has its own), and if the vehicle has a round there that day they join the round's. When the site receives it, the drop-off is recorded for the driver. Free for organisations that both carry and receive waste.
  • Waste Output that shares a load, and says how it ended. A movement to another of your sites in your own vehicle now goes through its collection, so it can go on a round or share a vehicle's receipt with other loads. A collected movement now shows Delivered once it's dropped off, then Received or Rejected once the other site has dealt with it, in View Movements, its filters and its export. Free.
  • A collection says where its waste went. Once all of a collection is dropped off in one place, View Collection shows that place as Dropped Off At, rather than where it was arranged to go (often not known yet). Waste dropped off in two places keeps where it was arranged to go, and the Collection Reports export (Reporting add-on) now names where each waste item was dropped off. Free.
  • Hazardous round numbers that stay within one nation. A round collecting hazardous waste from premises in two nations, such as England and Wales, no longer gets a hazardous round number, as the regulations want every premises of a multiple collection in one nation: each stop's consignment note is a single collection. Plan a Round warns you as you add the stops, and the Rounds list says why. Round Planning add-on.
  • A load under two permits, reported under both. Defra's Digital Waste Tracking takes one permit for each load. Where a site holds several permits and a load's waste comes in under two of them, TIPPA now sends the waste under each permit to Defra separately, so each is reported under the right permit, and the receipt shows a Waste Tracking ID for each. Free.
  • Searches that look beyond the dates you chose. On View Receipts and the Activity Log, a search that finds nothing in the dates you've set now offers the nearest days it does find something on, with how many, as Weighbridge Home already did for a load planned for another day. Tap one to go straight to that day. Free.

  • Weigh loads going out. A lorry come to collect waste is weighed the other way round: Load Out (or press L on Weighbridge Home) weighs it in empty, using the vehicle's saved tare if it has one, and it waits under Loading out now. Weigh it out full and Tippa works out the net, shares it across the waste items, and records the movement as collected, dated when it left. A planned load out is offered by its registration, and the carrier is picked from the vehicle, as for loads coming in. Vehicle Left, Remember this tare, a photo of the load and no signal all work too. The Weighbridge role weighs loads out at its own sites; planning and editing movements stays with the office. Weighbridge Home shows the day's loads and tonnes out beside those in, and the office sees loads out on the On Site widget. Free.
  • More at the weighbridge. On site now shows how long each vehicle has been there, in amber once it's past your site's limit (30 minutes unless you set it on Edit Site). Weigh In warns when a vehicle is already on site and offers to weigh it out. A saved tare now says when it was weighed, with a warning once it's older than your site's limit (6 months unless set), and Manage Vehicles and the customer form show the date too. Add a photo of the load at Weigh In; it's added after the weigh-in, so the bridge never waits. Weighbridge Home shows today's loads in, tonnes in and how many are on site. Give a fleet vehicle its plated weight on Manage Vehicles (or let DVLA's figure stand) and Weigh In warns when it's over. And set the weighbridge's next test date on Edit Site: Needs Attention lists it from 30 days before. Free.
  • Faster at the weighbridge. Type a registration and Tippa looks the vehicle up once: your own vehicle, the carriers it's listed against, and the last load it brought to your site, whose carrier is picked for you. When you weigh it out, or record a new receipt, Same as last time fills in that load's waste in one tap (never by itself, and never its weights), for you to check. At the weighbridge, New Receipt starts with the registration and is already marked received, and on a computer the receipt forms sit in two columns, the vehicle and weights beside the waste. On a computer, press W to weigh in, N for a new receipt and / to search on Weighbridge Home; anywhere, Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on a Mac) saves a receipt, and the arrow keys and Enter pick from a list of suggestions.
  • Weighing with no signal. Weigh In, Weigh Out and Vehicle Left now work when the signal drops: each is kept on the device, shown as Waiting to sync, and sent once the signal's back. A vehicle weighed in and out before either was sent arrives as one received load, and one that leaves before its weigh-in was sent is simply taken back. Anything the office needs to sort out shows in Unsaved Offline Records.
  • Weigh in, weigh out. At the weighbridge, Weigh In a vehicle as it comes onto the bridge with just its registration and gross weight, and it waits under On site now. Each load is listed by its carrier and registration first, and each planned one has its own Weigh In button, and if you use the big one instead, Tippa offers the load planned for that registration that day, or the carrier whose vehicle it is, your own included. Once it's weighed in you're straight back at the day's loads, with a note saying so, ready for the next vehicle. Weigh it out when it leaves: enter the tare (or use the vehicle's saved one), fill in the carrier and waste, and Tippa works out the net, sharing it across a mixed load's waste items. The load is received and sent to Defra dated when it came in, and Remember this tare saves the tare for the vehicle's next visit. If a vehicle leaves without weighing out, Vehicle Left says why. The office sees what's on site in a new On Site dashboard widget, and a vehicle left on site for hours in Needs Attention. Free, for sites with a weighbridge.
  • Email a waste transfer note. A receipt's and a collection's transfer note can now be emailed to your customer as a PDF with Email Transfer Note, from your organisation with replies to you, as well as printed with Print / Download Transfer Note (the button that used to be called Create Transfer Note). Both are on View Receipt and View Collection, and on the confirmation straight after you receive a load or arrange or collect a collection. The carrier's confirmation email now has the load's transfer note attached too. If an emailed note doesn't arrive, the record says so. Free.
  • Tidier confirmations. On a computer, the buttons after saving a record sit in one row, Edit This Receipt sits beside Retry when Defra turns a load down, and a weighbridge row's Actions button is the same size as its Weigh In and Weigh Out.
  • A screen for the weighbridge. For transfer stations and waste sites, Weighbridge Home shows the day's loads at your site, opening on what's planned and still to come in, with a Receive button on each so a planned load is received in one click, and a big New Receipt for one that wasn't planned. Step to the day before or after for a load that's turned up late or early, with Back to Today to return. Search for a load that isn't there that day, and Tippa offers the day it's planned for, even an overdue one. Give whoever works the weighbridge the new Weighbridge role in Manage Users, with the sites they work at, and that's what they see: receipts and customers at their own sites, without deleting receipts or seeing reports, invoices or settings. It uses one of your office user places, like any office user. If they also drive, add them on Manage Drivers too: they get Driver mode, still without the back office, in the same place. Anyone in the office can turn the same screen on for one device, such as the weighbridge PC, with Weighbridge mode on the dashboard (with Driver mode too, the two share one Change Mode button, so a phone isn't filled with buttons). View Receipts now has a Dates filter too, and the dashboard's View all opens it on the day or week the widget showed.
  • Your organisation's own address. Waste carriers and brokers can now add their business address in Organisation Settings, Manage Organisation. Season tickets and collection transfer notes give it wherever you're the carrier or broker, so the note names your address as well as the producer's. If it's missing, Tippa asks you to add it before a season ticket or a note goes out for signing.
  • Never stuck setting up. If you ticked the wrong kind of business when you signed up, Add Your Receiving Site now has Change Organisation Type, and Log Out if you need to come back later with your permit to hand.
  • Back to where you came from. Cancel on an Edit screen, saving Edit Site and removing a vehicle inspection now take you back to the list, record or return you opened them from, instead of the dashboard. Edit Site keeps what you've typed when you make another permit the main one, and Make Main Permit asks first.
  • Returns check again when you come back. Fix one of a waste return's problems on Edit Site, go back, and the problem has gone from the list. Returns Due now says why nothing is listed: no site yet, nothing due yet for a new site, or every return sent.
  • Every problem on every waste item at once. Create Receipt now lists everything that's missing on each waste item when you save, not just the first thing on each.
  • Rejected and quarantined waste says what happens next. Choosing quarantine shows the date the decision is due and warns if it's already passed, and the form says whether the carrier and broker will be emailed, and when.
  • Transfer notes leave hazardous waste off. A waste transfer note printed from a receipt now leaves off any hazardous waste, which travels on its consignment note, and says so.
  • Planned loads you can tell apart. Receive Planned Waste and the dashboard's Scheduled Receipts show each load's reference and waste, and after receiving one you can go straight to View Receipt. PDFs are now named by the record's reference, such as R1042, and hazardous property codes read "HP 14".
  • Searches say when nothing matches. Looking for a customer, carrier or producer that isn't there now says so, and Add New starts the new record with the name you typed.
  • Vehicle dates, straight after adding a vehicle. Add Vehicle leads on to the new vehicle's MOT, tax and inspection dates, Edit Dates checks the year in case it's mistyped, and a date that's gone by now says Overdue. Free for carriers.
  • Exchange a skip for a different size. Exchange and Book Exchange now let you pick a different size for the new skip with Change (Skip Hire add-on).
  • No Invoicing section where there's no one to bill. A receipt carried in one of your own vehicles or brought from another of your sites isn't invoiced (its collection is), so its form no longer shows the Invoicing section or a price, unless there's a broker on it (Invoicing add-on).
  • No more £0.00 invoices for closed collections. Closing a collection with nothing to charge no longer makes an empty draft invoice, and sort codes show as 12-34-56 on every invoice, statement and email (Invoicing add-on).
  • CSV exports open properly in Excel. "£", "×" and accented letters no longer come out garbled in Excel on Windows.
  • Repeated records that say what they're doing. A schedule waiting for its season ticket to be signed now says nothing is made until it is. Setting an earlier end date offers to remove what it had already made after it (Repeated Records add-on). Templates warn when a carrier or other party they name has been removed, Save as Template keeps the job price and PO number, and a receipt template keeps a planned load's estimated weight (Productivity add-on).
  • Your plan and your organisation, in the activity log. The Activity Log now says what an organisation change was, such as the old and new name or a type added, and records every change to your plan. Taking an add-on off your plan says what stops working and that what you made with it is kept, See plans opens with that add-on ticked, and re-enabling a user when every seat is in use says so first.
  • Clearer sign-in and account messages. A disabled user who tries to log in is told why. Only the newest password reset email's link works, and the page says if a link has expired or been used. Delete Organisation and Delete Account now say exactly what goes for your kind of business, and that a paid plan ends straight away.
  • Getting Started Videos, one at a time. A video that can't load now says so, with Try Again, and starting one video pauses any other.
  • Merged suggestions say where they went. In Feature Requests, a suggestion we merge into another stays in your list and links to the one it joined, and Suggest a Feature now spots your own suggestions still waiting for review.
  • Mass Balance warns about balances below zero. Mass Balance names any EWC code whose balance has gone below zero, and only says it shows 0 when nothing has been recorded (Reporting add-on).

  • Tippa opens faster, and says what it's doing while it loads. In a web browser, Tippa now downloads less the first time you open it, starts up our server while it downloads, and opens sooner when our server hasn't been used for a while. While it loads, you see what it's doing, such as checking you're signed in or loading your organisation, and why it can take a few seconds, instead of a bare spinner.
  • Setup videos, and a welcome when you start. A short video for each kind of business, transfer stations and waste sites, waste carriers, and brokers and dealers, takes you from signing up to your first record. When you've set up your organisation, Tippa shows you yours with what to do first, and emails it to you too. Find them again under Help (?), in Getting Started Videos, or on the Getting started page.
  • Import your customers, sites, vehicles, past receipts and prices from a spreadsheet. Bring your customers, sites, fleet, the loads you've already received, your container types and, with the add-ons, your skips, charges and prices across from another system or a spreadsheet in one go, under Organisation Settings, Import Records. Download the Excel or CSV template, fill it in and upload it: Tippa checks every row first and shows what's ready, what's already in Tippa and what needs fixing, before anything is saved. Rows with problems come back as a file to fix and upload again, carriers' registration numbers and sites' permits are checked on the public registers, vehicles can bring their MOT, tax and inspection dates with them, and you can undo an import for 7 days. Past receipts come in a row a waste item, checked against your site's permits like any other receipt, and you choose whether they're sent to Defra: leave it off if your old system reported them already. They count in Mass Balance and your returns, but send no emails and never go on an invoice. Skips come into your Container Register by the number painted on them (Skip Hire add-on), and charges come with their price, then prices for a site, a customer or a named price list from the date you give (Invoicing add-on).
  • Phone QR codes say when they've run out. The QR code for taking photos or a signature on your phone now says when it has expired, after 10 minutes, and gives you a new one with Show a new code, as the one for photographing a transfer note already did.
  • A return is never sent to the regulator twice. If the email service doesn't answer when TIPPA sends a waste return, consignee return or consignment note copy, it's kept as "Not confirmed" rather than failed. Sending it again goes as the same email, so the regulator never gets a second original. Waste Returns and Consignee Returns add-ons.
  • Reports say when you're offline. With no signal, Receipt, Collection and Waste Output Reports show only the records on your phone, and now say so above them. Reporting add-on.
  • Move hazardous waste between a site's permits. Move Between Permits now takes hazardous waste too. It needs no consignment note, since it never leaves the site: Defra is told no documentation came with it, as Defra advised, and the move stays off your hazardous waste return.
  • Drivers are told when the office changes their day. If the office closes a collection on the day it's due (the customer cancelled, say), it no longer just disappears from the driver's round: it stays, crossed out, saying it was closed by the office and why, and reopened the same day it goes back on the round. Driver Home also has a bell now, with a count of what's new: whenever the office changes a driver's work for today (a round planned, a stop added, taken off, closed or reopened, a new time, address, van or order), the driver is told what changed, and tapping it takes them to the stop. Drivers using TIPPA in a web browser can also turn on notifications, so their phone tells them even with TIPPA closed (on an iPhone, once TIPPA is added to the Home Screen).
  • Saving twice records once. A payment, a refund or a road permit saved again after the screen said it couldn't be saved is recorded once, not twice. Invoicing and Skip Hire add-ons.

  • Notes from the companies you see most read better each time. When you import a company's own docket or ticket and save the record, Tippa remembers where that layout puts each detail and which of your customers was which, and reads their next note with that in mind. What it learns stays with your organisation, and it keeps no note's wording or anyone's personal details (Note Uploads add-on).
  • A register of your skips, QR labels and a map of the skips out. List every skip you own by the number painted on it, in Collections, Container Register, and see which are in the yard, which are out (with the customer, the address and when it's due back) and which are out of service. Add a whole run at once, such as S001 to S020. Print QR labels four to a page: the driver presses Scan when they deliver or exchange a skip and the number fills itself in, and scanning a label with a phone's camera opens that skip. Skips Out shows the skips out on a map by postcode, with the overdue ones marked, and each place opens in your phone's maps for directions (Skip Hire add-on).
  • See the price before you save a collection or receipt. Arrange Collection, Edit Collection and the receipt forms (Create, Edit and Receive Planned Receipt) now show What This Would Cost under the Invoicing section, worked out as you fill in the customer, waste, containers, weights and date, before you save. Per-tonne charges are worked out from the estimated weights, here and on View Collection, and marked as an estimate. If a customer isn't invoiced on estimated weights, it says so, and their invoice still waits for the weight from the receipt (Invoicing add-on).
  • MOT, tax and safety inspection dates. Keep each vehicle's MOT and tax dates, how often it's inspected, and when its lifting gear examination and tachograph calibration are due, in Collections, Vehicle Dates. Record each safety inspection with who did it, what it found and a photo of the sheet, and the next one is worked out for you. Anything passed or due in the next 14 days is on your dashboard's Needs Attention and on Manage Vehicles, Plan Round warns you if a round's vehicle has a date passed, and the driver sees it on their phone. Free for carriers.
  • Reminders to customers before a skip is due back. Tippa can email your customer a couple of days before their skip is due back, so they ring to book an exchange or a collection, or to keep it longer, instead of leaving it to go overdue. One more goes the day after it's due if it's still out. Turn them on in Skip Hire Settings, choose how many days ahead, and give the email address replies should go to and the number to ring. Each hire shows what was sent and when the next one goes, and a reminder that didn't arrive shows on your dashboard. Switch them off for a customer on their details, and customers can stop them from the email (Skip Hire add-on).
  • Road permits for skips on the road. Keep each skip's road permit on its hire: the council (suggested from the postcode), when you applied, the permit number, the days it covers and what it cost. Extend it in a tap, and an exchanged skip takes its permit with it. Your dashboard's Needs Attention shows a skip whose permit has run out, runs out in the next two days with nothing after it, or was never granted, and a delivery in the next three days with no permit yet. Drivers see the permit number and its last day at the stop, and it's on the run sheet (Skip Hire add-on). With Invoicing too, each permit's cost goes on the customer's invoice as a line of its own (Invoicing add-on).
  • Missed skip deliveries on your dashboard. A skip delivery booked for a day that's passed and still not marked delivered, or one your driver couldn't deliver today, now shows in Needs Attention with the reason they gave. View Hire opens it to mark it delivered, book it for another day or cancel the booking, so a customer waiting for a skip isn't forgotten (Skip Hire add-on).
  • What This Would Cost says why a job comes to nothing. When none of your charges fit a collection's or receipt's waste, the price preview now says so, and names any charge that would fit but is set to be added by hand. When a per-tonne charge has no weight because the receipt holds other collections too, it says that and how to use estimated weights instead. Collections and receipts saved before your container list existed, including those from repeated collections set up then, are now priced by their container type, so a charge for bales fits them (Invoicing add-on).
  • A tidier customer form. Adding or editing a customer now goes in sections (Customer Type, Details, Contact), uses more of a wide screen, and puts short fields side by side. A carrier's vehicles fold away until you need them. With Invoicing, the billing details and invoice preferences fold away too, each with a one-line summary, and each "Your default" choice now says what your default is, such as 30 days from the invoice date (Invoicing add-on).
  • Organisation Settings in groups. Its options are now grouped under Organisation, People, Preferences and Plan and activity, so what you're after is quicker to find.
  • A menu with only what you can use. Screens from an add-on your organisation doesn't have are no longer in the menu, except for an admin on the web, who can add it. If an add-on isn't for you, the admin can hide it from their own menu with Hide from my menu, and put it back from Manage Subscriptions.
  • Add-ons in groups. Manage Subscriptions now lists the add-ons under Faster record keeping, Reports and returns, and Rounds, skips and invoicing, rather than one long list.
  • My Profile. The settings menu's Profile is now called My Profile, so it's clear it holds your own account (your name, email, password, sign-in security and dashboard) rather than your organisation's.
  • Tips you can spot. The advice under a field now has an info icon beside it on every screen, so it stands out from the rest of the form.
  • Signatures say who signed. Getting a signature on a receipt, collection or movement now asks for the name of the person signing, and the signing page on their own phone asks for it too. The name shows under the signature and in the record's history, beside whoever took it.
  • An estimate stays an estimate. When you receive a planned receipt or complete a planned movement, a weight filled in from its estimate is now marked Weight is Estimated until you weigh the load, so a guess is never sent to Defra or your waste return as a weighed amount.
  • Hazardous codes switch on hazardous properties. Picking a hazardous EWC code now switches on Contains Hazardous Properties for that waste item and asks for its hazardous property codes.
  • Every problem at once. The receipt forms now list everything that needs fixing when you save, rather than one thing at a time.
  • Transfer notes list every waste. The waste transfer note printed from a receipt, collection or movement now lists every waste on the load: each EWC code, with the descriptions and quantities in order. Before, it showed only the first.
  • Cancel on every edit screen. Each Edit screen now has Cancel under its save button, back to where you came from without saving, and Edit Receipt's confirmation offers View Receipt.

  • Skip deliveries and exchanges on your rounds. Book a skip delivery for the day the customer wants it, with where to put it and whether it's going on the road (a permit needed), and it gets its reference straight away. Book an exchange or take-away from the skip on hire: Tippa arranges the collection for its waste, copied from their last one there. Put deliveries and skip jobs on a driver's round among the collections, or give one to a driver on its own. On their phone each stop says what to deliver, bring or lift, where to put it and the customer's number to ring; the driver taps Delivered (or Couldn't deliver, and why), and at an exchange their Collect already says Exchanged. It all works with no signal, and the run sheet lists them too (Skip Hire add-on).
  • Payment reminders. Remind a customer to pay from their Customer Account or one of their invoices: one email listing what they have overdue, with a link to each invoice, the total, how to pay and a statement attached. Or set a schedule in Invoicing Settings, such as 7, 14 and 30 days after the due date, each reminder in your own words, and Tippa sends them each morning. Each invoice gets each reminder once, a customer gets no more than one a week, and paid or written-off invoices are never chased (Invoicing add-on).
  • Customer statements. Send a customer a statement of their account from their Customer Account: what they owed at the start, every invoice, credit note and payment in the dates you choose, what they owe now, and what's still unpaid by how overdue it is. Download it as a PDF or email it from your business. Turn on monthly statements in Invoicing Settings and every customer who owes you something, or is in credit, gets last month's on the 1st; you can leave any customer out (Invoicing add-on).
  • View Collections opens on today. The list starts at today's collections instead of your oldest, so the ones due now are right there. Prev goes back to earlier collections and Next on to later ones.
  • Sales reports. See what you invoiced between two dates, before VAT and after discounts with credit notes taken off: by month with a chart, by customer, by charge or by site. Download any of them as a CSV. Find it in the Invoicing menu (Invoicing add-on).
  • Monthly contracts. Charge a customer a fixed price each month for chosen container types, such as a weekly 1100L bin, under Prices, Contracts. The monthly fee goes on their invoice in advance or in arrears, a part month is charged by the day, and their collections of those containers aren't charged per lift or by weight. Extras and failed visits are still charged as usual (Invoicing add-on).
  • Landfill tax on invoices. Add a landfill tax charge at the standard or lower rate, and Tippa charges the official rate per tonne beside your gate fee, as its own line. We keep the rates up to date each April, including Scottish Landfill Tax and Wales's Landfill Disposals Tax for sites there, so you never change the price yourself (Invoicing add-on).
  • Minimum charges and skip weight allowances. Give any price a minimum charge, so a light load still pays enough; customers and price lists with their own price can have their own minimum. A charge per tonne or per kg can include some weight per container, so an 8yd skip's price can include 1.5 tonnes and only the weight over it is charged. The invoice line says when the minimum was charged and how much weight was included (Invoicing add-on).
  • Hire charges on invoices. Charge for each skip you hire out: a price for its hire period, and a daily charge for each day it's kept past its due date. Set them on Prices like your other charges, by skip size and per customer if you like. The hire period goes on the customer's invoice once the skip is delivered, and the days over once it's taken away or exchanged. Each hire can have its own price, PO, extras such as a road permit, or go to another customer, and View shows what it costs so far (Invoicing and Skip Hire add-ons).
  • Payments on your invoices. Record what each customer pays, from the invoice or from their new Customer Account, which shows what they owe, what's overdue and any credit. One payment can pay several invoices: Tippa sets it against the oldest first, and you can change how it's split. Anything over is kept as credit, to use on their next invoice or refund. Write off what won't be paid. Invoices has Unpaid and Overdue lists, Customers shows what each one owes, the dashboard shows your unpaid and overdue totals, and your customer's link and PDF show what's left to pay. Export your payments for your accounts software too (Invoicing add-on).
  • Producers can sign after a collection too. If nobody signed the transfer note on the day (nobody was there, or the driver added waste that wasn't booked), send the producer a link to sign it online from the collection afterwards, even once the waste has been dropped off. They sign for what was collected, and their signed copy says it was signed after collection. A link sent before the collection now keeps working after it, unless the driver gets a signature on the day. Free.
  • Give a single job to a driver. For a one-off collection that doesn't need a round, choose a driver when you arrange or edit it, next to the vehicle. It appears under Your jobs on their phone on the day, and today's also shows any earlier ones they haven't collected yet. Leave the vehicle to be confirmed and the driver picks their van when they collect; the waste is then on their van, ready to drop off. The collections list and Upcoming Collections show who's doing each one. Free for carriers.
  • Containers on hire. Know where every skip is. Deliver one and it's recorded with the customer, the address, its number and its hire period (each container type can have its usual period), with a reference such as H12 for when the customer rings. Containers on Hire lists what's out, soonest due back first, with the overdue ones at the top and on your dashboard. Exchange a skip for another, or take it away, from the office; or your driver does it at the stop, choosing Exchanged, Taken away or Staying for each skip there as they collect. Drivers can deliver one from their phone too, even with no signal (Skip Hire add-on).
  • Daily vehicle checks. Drivers do their walkaround check on their phone before they set off, following DVSA's list for lorries or vans: each item OK, a defect (saying what) or not applicable, with photos. A vehicle they find unsafe shows as off the road on Manage Vehicles and Needs Attention, and Plan Round warns you, until the office marks its defects fixed. Every check is kept, with who did it and when. Free for carriers.
  • Clearer repeated hazardous waste. Hazardous waste can't go on a season ticket, and a repeated receipt, collection or movement now says so right under the EWC code when you pick a hazardous one, not just at the end of the form. When you create the schedule, Tippa checks you know that each load will be a separate consignment with its own consignment note (Repeated Records add-on).
  • Hide container types you don't use. Your container list starts with every one of Defra's types and the common sizes. Hide the ones your business never uses (Actions, then Hide, in Container Types) and they stop appearing when you pick a container, without losing them: they stay on the list marked Hidden, records already saved with them keep them, and Show Again brings one back.
  • Simpler menus. On a phone or tablet, tapping Collections, Receipts or Waste Output now pops its menu up over the screen you're on, like the settings menu, instead of opening a page of its own. Help (?) goes straight to Keith on every device, with Feature Requests, Report a Problem, Send Feedback and Contact Us in his panel under More help, and he suggests two questions for your screen to leave them room. Minimised, Help brings him back with your conversation.
  • Invoicing on your dashboard. A new Invoicing widget shows what you've invoiced this month and last month (credit notes taken off), the invoices ready to send with a Send All Ready button, the drafts still building up, and the last few invoices and credit notes you sent. It's for admins and your back office; drivers never see it. Switch it off or move it on Customise Dashboard (Invoicing add-on).
  • See your password as you type it. Tap the eye at the end of a password field to check what you've typed before you create your account, log in or change your password, and tap it again to hide it. The page for resetting a forgotten password has a Show passwords box too.
  • Keith on your phone. Keith now fills the screen on a phone, so the keyboard can't come up underneath him. Minimise him to type in the screen's fields, and tap the Keith button to carry on where you left off.
  • More of each record at a glance. Every list in Tippa (receipts, collections, waste movements and processing, the reports, and the lists of customers, sites, vehicles, drivers, users, invoices and the rest) now shows as many columns as your screen has room for. On a laptop that's usually every column, carrier and broker included, where before several only appeared on a very wide monitor.
  • Your site's name stays in view. On a laptop the site button at the top could shrink to just its arrows, hiding which site you were working on. It now always keeps room for the name: when the menu is short of space, Home steps aside (the Tippa logo still takes you to the dashboard), and then the last menus move under More.

  • Quicker with a lot of records, and safer with weak signal. View Receipts, View Collections and Waste Output open quickly however many records you have, and so do Needs Attention, the Rounds screen and Invoices. A big invoice shows its first 100 records, with Show All for the rest. If the signal drops just as you save, Tippa now finishes everything that goes with the save (its price, its history, its emails and the drop-off) when it tries again, and a change made after one your office has to check goes to them with it, rather than on its own.
  • Find a carrier's registration by name. Don't have a carrier's or broker's registration number to hand? Under the number, tap Search the registers by name and start typing the business name. Tippa searches all four UK registers (the EA's, NRW's, SEPA's and DAERA's) as you type and lists only current registrations; pick one and its number is filled in and checked, with the name and address search started for you. It works when adding a customer and for your own organisation's number. Our free carrier check on this website can search by name too. Free.
  • Contact details on every record. Receipts, Waste Output movements and collections now keep the email address and phone number of each business on them (the carrier, broker, producer and where the waste went), and show them when you view the record. If a customer you pick has neither, the form says so, with Add contact details to put them right without losing what you've typed. A householder's details are never kept on the record. Carriers and brokers now give their own organisation's email or phone too, in Manage Organisation, for when you're the carrier or broker yourself.
  • Simpler prices. A charge now has its price right on it, so you set what a skip lift costs as you add it, and the Charges list shows each one's price. A charge can be just for several container types, not only one. Who Pays What sets out everything that changes a price, in the order it's used: a customer's own prices, price lists such as Trade, a head office's prices, a site's and yours. You can do each one there: put customers on a price list or take them off, open a customer's prices, or set their head office (Invoicing add-on).
  • Invoicing has its own menu. Invoices, Prices and your invoicing settings are now together under Invoicing, in the menu at the top (on a phone, in the bar at the bottom), instead of spread across the settings menu and Organisation Settings. If Invoicing leaves your plan, the menu keeps Invoices so you can still read what you sent (Invoicing add-on).

  • Invoicing. Invoice your customers from the work Tippa records. Set your charges and price lists, and each collection or receipt goes on its customer's draft invoice as it's done (job by job, weekly or monthly). Check a draft, then send it: it's emailed with the PDF and a link to view it, numbered with no gaps, or sent for you overnight if you choose. A record changed after its invoice has gone is flagged, and a credit note puts it right (Tippa warns you before you change, reopen or delete one); you can give a credit for anything else, or void an invoice. Export your invoices and credit notes for your accounts software. Your back office sees prices, your drivers never do (Invoicing add-on).
  • Reference numbers. Every receipt now gets a short number (R1042), every collection one too (C311), and so does every Waste Output movement (M57) and processing record (P12). They're on the lists, the receipt PDF and the confirmation emails, and you can search by them. The movements and processing exports include them (Reporting add-on). Older records have been numbered as well.
  • Returns keep their place. Go off to fix a problem on a waste return or consignee return and Back brings you to the same return, with the site, period and answers you left. A return's period is named the same way everywhere (with DAERA's own quarter on NIEA's), and the consignee return no longer tells you to email the EA when Tippa can send it for you. The declaration on every waste return, and the contact and billing details on NRW's hazardous waste return, are now kept with the site for everyone in your organisation on any device, as the EA's consignee return's already were, and NRW's return picks up a change to the site's address (Waste Returns and Consignee Returns add-ons). Report exports are now named for the site they're from, or all sites (Reporting add-on), and a dashboard widget that can't load says so, with Try Again, instead of looking empty.
  • Receipts. Add DnR now shows what Defra (and, for a hazardous load, SEPA or NIEA) made of the codes you add, and with no signal it saves them on your phone to send later. The receipts list's Quarantined filter finds every load with waste still held, marked "in quarantine", and Tippa waits for the quarantine to be resolved before offering Add DnR or resending the confirmation email (a resend now shows in the receipt's history). A receipt's transfer note fills in your permit and the place of transfer, and the reason for no consignment code shows on View Receipt and View Collection. The receipts CSV adds the time received, consignment code, collected-from postcode, who received the load, physical form and containers (Reporting add-on). If Digital Waste Tracking isn't set up, members are asked to get an admin to set it up, and a load that never finished sending to Defra can be sent with one tap.
  • Collections and rounds. Search your collections by consignment code, broker/dealer or receiver too. A collection on a round stays in the round's vehicle when you edit it (change the round to change the vehicle), Drop Off's "+ Add collections" finds every load still on the van however old, and View Collection's history keeps up as you close, reopen or add to it (resending the carrier's booking email shows there too). Edit Round shows the round's history, Remove Round says what happens to each stop and that the driver loses it, and Driver Home moves on to the new day if it's left open past midnight (Round Planning add-on for rounds).
  • Repeated records and templates. Removing a repeated receipt, movement or collection now withdraws a season ticket still waiting to be signed, so the emailed link stops working. A schedule's View shows its history and has Save as Template, and Edit Template shows who made and last changed the template. Schedules and templates show their price on View, and a cloned template keeps it (Invoicing add-on). The three repeated lists show the same columns and dates, template search finds your own vehicles, and a repeated or template collection no longer copies one hazardous consignment code onto every load: each collection gets its own. A schedule past its end date now shows as Ended, the three repeated lists filter by Active or Ended, and a season ticket still waiting to be signed is withdrawn once its schedule ends, so the link stops working. A template's View shows your changes as soon as you've saved them, and the browser's Back reopens it (Repeated Records add-on, and the Productivity add-on for templates).
  • Users, drivers and settings. Manage Users and Manage Drivers filter by status, and Edit Driver says when a driver hasn't joined yet, has left or is disabled, with a button to send them a new link. Disabling a driver warns you about their upcoming rounds, and the round's driver list says who can't see a round yet (Round Planning add-on for rounds). Manage Organisation shows its history, Add Site lets you go straight on to the next site, and the Activity Log says what was changed on a customer, site, vehicle or driver, with roles by name. Search finds a customer by phone or registration however it's spaced, a vehicle by its make and a site by its phone, and a slow register (DAERA's) is given time to answer when you check a registration or permit.
  • Waste Output. Clone a move between permits and it opens as one again. A receipt lists the movements made from it, and "A receipt at another site" no longer offers one already used. Deleting a movement names the planned receipt and collection it takes with it, and search finds a move by the permit it went to. Waste Output Reports and its export gain a Destination filter, and the movements CSV words destinations as View Movements does (Reporting add-on). Mass Balance names the adjustment you're about to delete and offers Try Again if it can't load (Reporting add-on), and weight totals no longer show long decimals.
  • Mass Balance for each permit. At a site with more than one permit, Mass Balance shows each permit's balance on its own, with a move between permits taken off one and added to the other, and exports it named for the permit. Permit Limits shows what each permit stores now against the tonnes it may store, and what it's received this year against the tonnes it may accept a year, marked near the limit from 90% and over the limit once past it (Reporting add-on).
  • Emails that didn't arrive. If a receipt's confirmation email, a carrier's booking email, a producer's signing link or a season ticket's link bounces, Tippa now says so on the record and in Needs Attention, naming the address it bounced from, with the button to send it again.
  • Your own container list. Keep your own containers, such as an 8 yard skip or a 1100 litre bin, each matched to one of Defra's container types, so Defra and your transfer notes still get the right code. Admins and back office users can rename, add, hide or remove them in Container Types, in settings.
  • Activity Log filters. Narrow the Activity Log to an area (records, repeated records, returns, customers, sites, vehicles and drivers, users, invoicing or settings) and to dates, quick ranges or your own. View Activity on Manage Users shows everything one person did.
  • Restore what you removed. Removed a customer, site, vehicle or driver by mistake? Choose Removed on its Manage list and Restore puts it back. A restored site or vehicle counts towards your plan again, and a driver who'd left your organisation is sent a new invite to join.
  • Run sheets, and copying a round. Print any round as a run sheet for its driver: the stops in order, with each producer's address, phone and email, the waste and its containers, special handling, and a hazardous load's consignment code and round number. It never shows prices. Copy to Another Day plans the same round (driver, vehicle, start and drop-off) on another day, with the collections due then from the same producers, in the same order, ready to check and save (Round Planning add-on).
  • The invoice on the record. Once a collection's or receipt's invoice has been sent, View Collection and View Receipt show what it was charged on that invoice, line by line, with a link to the invoice, in place of the live price. Linked Records lists every invoice and credit note it's been on, and both still show if your Invoicing add-on has ended, so you can always get from a record to its invoice (Invoicing add-on).
  • Late returns in Needs Attention. A waste return or consignee return that's gone past its due date without being sent now shows in Needs Attention, even if you haven't switched Returns Due on, with Open to go straight to that site's return for the period.
  • Imported notes kept as photos. Fill a receipt in from photos of its transfer or consignment note and those photos are added to the receipt's photos when you save it, already ticked as the consignment note when SEPA or NIEA want a copy, and the copy TIPPA sends them waits for the photos so they go with it (Consignee Returns add-on). A collection filled in from photos of its note and saved as collected keeps them too (Note Uploads add-on).
  • View it, or create another. After you create a receipt, movement, move between permits, processing record or collection, the confirmation now has View, to open what you've just saved, and Create Another, to start the next one straight away. Saved with no signal, View appears once it's been sent.

  • Transfer notes for waste going out and for collections. Waste Output movements and collections now get a pre-filled waste transfer note (the Environment Agency's form) to print and sign, as receipts already did. Free. See our waste transfer notes guide.
  • Clone a repeated schedule to set up a similar regular load in a few taps (Repeated Records add-on).

  • Keith, the help assistant. Tap the ? on any screen and ask how to do something. Keith answers in plain steps, starting with the screen you're on, with buttons that open the screens he names. Free, answered in the UK, and your questions aren't kept.
  • A Help menu on every screen. Report a problem (with screenshots), send feedback or contact support without leaving what you're doing.
  • Feature Requests. Search what others have asked for, vote for what you want and suggest something new. Everyone who voted is emailed when it's being built and when it's delivered.
  • Notes in companies' own layouts. As well as the Environment Agency's forms, Tippa now reads a company's own docket, weighbridge ticket or certificate, and checks every value against the note itself (Note Uploads add-on).
  • Better reports. Search, a permit filter, quick date ranges and fuller CSV downloads (Reporting add-on).
  • Returns. Mark a return as sent if you sent it outside Tippa, see when each hazardous waste return is due, and have the declaration remembered for each site.
  • Repeated records. Give each regular load an estimated weight, and start a schedule from a template.
  • People and records. Resend an invitation, disable or enable a driver, see which members are also drivers, and see the change history on customers, sites, vehicles and drivers. Manage Sites gains search, sorting and each site's regulator, and removing anything that's still in use warns you first.

  • Season tickets, signed online. Set up a regular load once and Tippa emails your customer a one-time link to check and sign the season ticket, or you upload a signed copy. Changes part-way through go to the customer to accept, and renewals are prepared 30 days ahead for you to send (Repeated Records add-on). See our season tickets guide.
  • Producers sign a collection's transfer note online before it's collected, from an emailed link. Free.
  • Several permits for a site. Add each permit and Tippa checks it on its regulator's register, and fills in the waste codes, yearly and storage limits and operations it allows from its standard rules set and permit document. Each load is received under the permit that allows it, and each permit gets its own returns. Free.
  • Move a load between a site's permits with one form in Waste Output. It's received under the new permit and reported to Defra as a move within the same site (non-hazardous waste for now).
  • Defra submissions retried for you. A load Defra didn't accept is tried again every hour while Defra's service is down, once a day while its charge is unpaid, and straight away when you save a fix. Whoever received the load is emailed with the result. See our digital waste tracking guide.
  • Drivers' unplanned pickups and drop-offs show on their round.

  • Forms keep what you've typed when you press Back.
  • Save a waste movement as a template (Productivity add-on).

  • Waste returns for Scotland and Northern Ireland. SEPA's Waste Data Return and DAERA's Waste Summary Return, filled in from your receipts and sent for you, so waste returns now cover sites in all four nations (Waste Returns add-on).
  • Hazardous waste in Scotland and Northern Ireland. SEPA and NIEA want a copy of each consignment note rather than a return, so Tippa emails each one to them as the load is booked in, including Scottish or Northern Irish waste received in England or Wales (Consignee Returns add-on).
  • Customise your dashboard. Choose and order your own widgets. New ones include Returns Due, a free reminder of each site's returns for the quarter just ended, Today's Rounds and daily tonnes in and out.
  • Tablets and landscape. Tippa's layout now fits tablets either way up and phones turned sideways.
  • Photos at drop-off, and two-factor backup codes you can save or copy.
  • On this website: guides to the rules, pages for sites, carriers, skip hire and brokers and dealers, short videos, and free tools to check a carrier or a permit, find an EWC code and make a waste transfer note.

  • Hazardous waste consignee returns for the Environment Agency, built from your records (Consignee Returns add-on). See our consignee returns guide.
  • Waste returns sent for you, and Natural Resources Wales's waste return for Welsh sites (Waste Returns add-on).
  • New pricing. The core tools are free, and you only pay for extra sites, vehicles or office users, or the add-ons you want. Reporting to Defra is free on every plan, and there are no adverts. See pricing.
  • Drivers record why a collection didn't happen.

  • Consignment notes and photos read for you. Fill a record in from a hazardous waste consignment note, or from phone photos of a paper note (Note Uploads add-on).
  • Hazardous and POPs concentrations recorded for each component of a waste.

September 2026
